Creating Keepsakes + Giveaways

Hey there!

A few months ago, I mentioned that I stepped down from my article with Creating Keepsakes. Well, the first issue without my article is hitting the shelves and I am getting a lot of emails asking why I left. I truly was just running out of steam… creative juice… whatever you want to call it. So I asked CK if I could step down. They were so cool about it and sent me the most amazing scrapbook from everyone there that I always will treasure. I still am doing projects for them here and there – just not in the Contributing Writer role. So, it is all good. Promise. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have two giveaways for ya!

CK has two great new publications that just came out. I flipped through these last night and they are great. I especially love the first one since it is about stamping – Scrapbooking Tips & Tricks: Stamps & Inks

Lots of great ideas and tips for using inks and stamps on your scrapbook pages – a favorite of mine! Here is a peek:

There is also a new one called Scrapbooking Everyday Memories. Fabulous for focusing on all those moments we want to remember…

And here is a peek…

The pet pages are my faves!

To get your hands on these issues, head shopping HERE, and use the code CKDT15 for 15% off all items in the store. (Expires 12/20/2010.) While you are there, you might as well pick up a copy of THIS, too. ๐Ÿ™‚

And… I have a copy of each of these issues to giveaway! Leave a comment here by Sunday night telling me your current favorite idea book. I will pick two lucky winners.

(Oh, and the winners of the adhesives from a few days back – Nancy S. I emailed you.)

Good luck!

  1. Not sure that I have a favorite or not. I get Scrapbooks Etc. but I get most of my inspiration from reading blogs – which of course yours is one of my favorites!

  2. Stacy Julian’s Photo Freedom book is still my favorite. It transformed how I store my photos and albums and affirmed how I scrapbook as a whole.

  3. Most of my idea come from online too. But if I pickup a magazine it’s usually Paper Craft. Thanks for the chance to win!

  4. I bought myself an early Christmas present, “The Best of Card Creations”. But I also get ideas and inspiration from some great blogs and from my many issues of Cardmaker, Paper Crafts and Scrapbooks & Cards Today. My only problem now is … too many ideas and too little time! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. I don’t have a particular idea book, but I’m still loving sketches that catch my eye and I can adapt in more ways than one.

  6. Loved your articles thru the years–so creative and beautiful! I’m liking the Somerset Studios mags for artsy inspiration.

  7. I have a subscribtion to Cardmaker and try to pick up Just Cards, Scrap it & Stamp it each month or quarter. I also like to read Scrapbooks & Cards Today online.

I don’t think I have ever seen either of the 2 you show here. They both look interesting, especially the Tips & Tricks.

  8. My favorite idea books are probably Stacy Julian’s big picture scrapbooking books and the Simple Scrapbooking Question generating special publication.

  9. We all look to you for creative inspiration, I hope with your added time, you can
refill your juices,. Take care, and thank you from all of us.

  10. My favorite overall is the Card Creation magazines. I like many of the ideas in them and I like the way they are organized.

  11. I would love a book on photo tips – what to do, what not to do and how to get th ebest out of your camera. Also PS tips would be great!

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  12. I really like the Creating keepsakes magazines, but they are hard to find in my little town in northern Sweden! There are Swedish magazines that I buy, but want some other inspiration as well. Thanks for the chance.

  14. I’ll definitely miss your column cos you are such an inspiration. I love visiting crater’s blogs because they are always an inspiration!!

  15. You had me at pet pages. My current fav idea book is Listography. Its a list book to help journal about your life. This has been my focus this year, since I need more help with my writing, not the actual picture part of scrapbooking.

  16. I don’t have any books, but I read many blogs and love Creating Keepsakes magazine as well as a few others. I wish I had enough time to try all the wonderful ideas that are out there! I will miss your column – I always turned there first and then read (devoured) the rest of the magazine.

  17. I enjoy the magazines that provide articles on techniques and hand made tips. i don’t have one fav magazine. At the moment somerset studio’s magazine has caught my eye…………\i look forward to new and ever changing trends within the paper industry.

  18. It seems like there really aren’t too many books puclished any more. And less magazines also! I have enjoyed most creative keepsakes ideas books, I been luk to buy a few and there are still some I would love to have. Lately it seems like blogs are where I have been finding ideas.

  19. I do read the CK mags as they are available, but my real favorites are from Stampington… I think I’m just a bit out there and the more artistic styles appeals to me. Where Women Create is my #1.

  20. Jennifer, I love all things paper and mixed media so I love all the scrapping mags and the Stampington line of mags as well. The Artistic __________ is my most recent purchase but while I love that book I think Tim Holtz recent book is probably one I use most often. I did buy the stamping CK mag that you were a huge part of and I can’t wait to try some of those tips.

So I don’t have ONE book but my current fave web site is you, especially with the new Hero Arts new line coming out and all your tips.

The other day you did a quick video and I can’t tell you how many tips I got out of that, in 3 minutes you inspired me tons!!!

  21. Since I’m in holiday mode, PaperCrafts Holiday Cards is my current favorite. Thanks for sharing your favorites. I do want to get back to scrapbooking and I think I would like to stamp in my scrapbooks once I get started.

  22. It’s hard to pick a favorite, because I have many that I enjoy. I can say that I love anything by Creating Keepsakes. Right now I’m doing more cards then scrapbooking so I’m using my Paper Crafts magazine more then any other publication. Thanks for the chance to win one of the new ones.

  23. I can’t wait to see the rest of the Tips & Tricks magazine after seeing the preview! My favorite idea book is Close to My Heart’s new book, “Magic”. So many cute ideas!

  24. I am sorry that I won’t see your articles anymore. I have gotten so many great ideas throughout the years, but I totally understand moving on. Maybe this will give you more time to continue tips on your blog. I love idea books and buy them all the time. I have favorites from all my different paper craft genres. Card making, stamping, scrapbooking, home decor. I think the ones that I pick up the most are my sketch books. One of the last CK magazines, special issues on sketches is my most used one.
Thanks for the chance to win one of these great new special issues.
    xoxo, Christine
