Day 7… last day of our same-stamp challenge…
Before I get started, I just wanted to give the heads up that all the new stamps from Hero Arts are available now HERE at 2peas and HERE at Simon Says Stamps. Go shop! 🙂
On to the card…
Bummer that this week is over. I am sure I will be doing this again. SO fun. This is Day 7 of my same-stamp challenge with Joy. And instead of a stamp, we decided to go with a Hero Arts digital piece called Oh Boy!
Now, before you panic, using these digital images can be SUPER easy. I just open them… resize… print and color with my Copics. (You can watch a video HERE with tips on doing this.) After adding some fun new Basic Grey papers (more on that below) and my own little collar, leash and greeting, we have these…
For this one, I stamped a different background stamp on the top and bottom of the card…
I stamped a stripe background on the bottom of this one, and stamped it twice on the top to create the plaid…
Each doggie was colored with Copics. I then cut a collar and added Glossy Accents to it for shine. Finally, string for a leash…
Supplies: Hero Arts stripes and digi dog element; Basic Grey paper; EK Success border punch; Glossy Accents (on collar); Spledid 66 font; Copics.
I am really loving THIS background stamp right now. Works with any style of projects – vintage to cutesy – and can be double stamped to create a stripe. Another cool idea I learned from Shari? Heat emboss this stripe with white powder on a white card. LOVE.
I just adore EK Success border punches. (Have you see all the new ones HERE?) And I am still lovin’ that border punch I used on these. (The little dots don’t show up if you punch with light pressure.) THIS guy is a fave…
Was so excited to use THESE new Basic Grey papers. Delicious, I tell ya. Yum. I find their papers are good for card making because one little strip of it really makes a card shine. And such good quality…
Finally, THIS is the digi kit we used…
Now… time to see Joy’s masterpiece HERE.
See you soon! Off to watch some mindless TV and kit for my big classes at Angela’s Happy Stamper. (By the way, if you are taking my classes there – good news! I went overboard and prepped for 8 cards for each class instead of 6, so we extended the class time 30 minutes. Just for fun. See you there!)
Bye.
