Random and a share…

Some random stuff for tonight…

First, I have some fab things for you to all check out…

  • Remember my Thinking Inking video series over at 2peas that I did last summer? (The series of 27 videos can be found HERE.) Well, some awesome stampers (lead by Jan) over on the message board there are doing a challenge and swap based on the class. Check it out HERE.
  • A fellow stamper named Ree is doing a card drive for a 16-yr-old named Matt who was in a bad accident. She could use some more cards – please help her out HERE.
  • Can't wait for this weekend! Jana and I are taking classes from Jenn Shurkus at Simply Scrapbooks. She is such a fun teacher – so excited. Hope to see some of you there.[p

Next, just a card share from a few months back. The navy part started out as white. I rubbed it like crazy with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink until it was solid navy. I then inked up THIS stamp with Versamark ink and sprayed it with pearlized water. (A mix of perfect pearls and water.) After stamping it on the inked paper, I let it dry. LOVE that look. The flower is embossed with black on watercolor paper. I smeared some Wild Honey and Barn Door Distress Inks on my craft sheet and added a few sprays of water and a couple globs of Liquid Pearls. Mixed it up and pressed the flower in it and let it dry. And here we have it…

Supplies: Hero Arts stamps (barocade, flower, greeting), pearls, card; Distress Inks; Perfect Pearls; Liquid Pearls

THIS stamp is so darn elegant…

  1. Gorgeous card! Can’t believe that beautiful background is stamped. I thouh for sure it was an embossing folder. Marvelous technique!

  2. so beautiful! but i have a question! i can’t even get those cling stamps OFF the plastic to even use!!! what am i doing wrong? i have looked around and not seen any kind of info re: how to use these cling stamps! Obviously, you would be the go-to person for my answer. i would so appreciate any help from you! thank you!

  3. I love the look of this technique.. It is very painterly…and very free looking.

  4. Wow, Jenn’s from my neck of the woods and SOOOOO fun to be with! Enjoy the class! I love the white on navy in your card!

  5. Jennifer, if you were any better, you would be perfect. Your talent always amazes me and I love how you have such a tender heart. Take care and God bless.

  6. Wow! Totally breathtaking! Really LOVE the colors!

Loved your thinking Inking class too so I might have to check out the challenge… Was just thinking how fun last summer was with my 3 doses of videos each week–Talk about being an Enabler!!! 🙂

I meant to chum in last post and say I’m a little bummed with the Bachelorette this season, but I agree with your choices of Chris L. and Roberto. Both genuine, good looking guys! 😉 Hopefully she actually ends up with one of them… Seeing Jake and Vienna fight put Jake in a whole new light for me… I’m starting to believe the rumors that he was just out to get into show biz–I never really liked Vienna, but I think she came off better somehow. 🙁

  7. just a fab card!! Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to continue to post and create and share with all of us. I come here every morning….love all you do with cardmaking and your family.
    Blessings….
    have a great weekend

  8. Loved your Thinking Inking series when I discovered it soon after I picked up this new hobby a few months ago! Learned so much!

Your use of a green ribbon here to mimic leaves is outstanding!!!

My cards want to be yours when they grow up…

  9. Looks like I’ll be busy this weekend making some cards I want to make some for Grace some for the kids over at the kid drive and I’ll add Mat to the mix! Have a wonderful weekend ! 🙂

  10. Jennifer, I follow your blog and love your work. Now you are taking a class with my friend Shurkus. I know you will have a great time. How about coming to the Cape and Colorful Creations and spend some time with us east coast girls. It would be wicked fun!

  11. WOW – what a gorgeous card! Love the colours in the flower with that rich blue!

  12. I have put off stamping for some time because I knew that it was another whole world of “stuff”….I have finally given in and, I was right! I see now what I have deprived myself of! 🙂 I have really enjoyed your site and all of your ideas/videos. The link to the Thinking Inking was sooo good! I have bookmarked it and will refer to it often. You are a great inspiration and a fine teacher!
