Shadow Inks and such…

Hello!  Greetings from Ponca City – the home of my in-laws.  Colin and I are spending some time here this week.  They are keeping him busy so I can work from here.

I am catching up on my answers over at my FAQ page HERE.  (Still have a lot to go.) One question I have seen a lot has to do with Hero Arts Shadow Inks and what I love about them.  Basically, these inks are just a soft colored ink that dries in a smooth, even look on any paper.  I use them most on tone-on-tone backgrounds, but sometimes they even work for main images.  Here is an example of a card I did with Shadow Inks.  Both the background and the main image were done with these inks – Soft Pool and Soft Apricot.  (The apricot piece – the floral is reverse, so the darker area is where the ink is.)

041210 Shadow Inks
Supplies: Hero Arts stamps (background, floral, greeting), paper, pearls (colored with alcohol inks) and inks (Soft Pool and Soft Apricot); American Crafts ribbon.

I really like all the colors.  I use Leaf, Sand, Pool and Apricot the most.  You can find them all HERE.

A few things to share:

  • Be sure to check out the Hero Arts blog this week.  They are doing Easy Hybrid.  And even if you don’t think digi is for you, you will learn something you will love.  Promise.
  • Thanks for praying for my SIL – she is doing much better.
  • Be sure to check out the fab eye candy HERE.

And to all you fabulous ladies in my class at Simply Scrapbooks this weekend, I promised to share a few of my old videos here – ones we talked about.  Here they are…

  6. I really enjoyed your class on Saturday! You were so friendly and helpful and just overflowing with new ideas for us! Since my hubby was waiting in the parking lot to pick me up after class, I didn’t get to shop there, but I gave the Michigan economy quite a boost today getting new inks and stamps. Time to play! Enjoy your stay with your in-laws.

  20. Hi Jennifer, I have just spent a lovely half hour watching your latest three videos. My favourite is your very last one showing you putting your whole layout together, accompanied by music.

  21. TFS!!! the videos with us again Jennifer. I think I will look into digital I’ve been so afraid, not being very computer savvy, the digital images are all so pretty with so much detail. You always make it look so simple, I thank you for that. 😀

  24. I just love soft pool. I only have the mini stamp pads and us them on every card to stamp my “signature” on the back. I would love to start collecting the full-sized ones.
