Amused… and a giveaway!

Hello!

Been prepping for my big classes this weekend.  All is good – I think I finished with the cutting and such tonight.  Colin helped me paint 120 die cuts with Distress Crackle Paint tonight. Notice how his work area was MUCH neater than mine.  He did about 40 of them.  What a great helper.  He is meticulous.

Love that little dude.  By the way, that is the my new favorite die – the Styled Label from Tim Holtz.  It rocks.  You can use it with the Cuttlebug or Big Shot or anything.  SO cool.  You can see it HERE.

Thought I would share some fun I had with the Hero Arts and Amuse Blog Swap this week.  You can see all the fun by checking out both of their blogs HERE and HERE.  I was honored to swap on the day with the wonderfully adorable Julie.  She rocks.

For this one for my hot hubby, I took three pieces of white string and colored one with a blue Copic and one with a red Copic and braided…

With simple stamped images like these, I really like to use THIS glitter pen to add some fun shine…

I am so incredibly in love with Amuse's patterned papers.  THIS one is my favorite – lovin' the tiny tiny tiny gingham.  Sweet.

This last one here uses a Sizzix embossing folder.  I really like their folders since they cover the entire front of a card.  I actually have an extra set of these folders that I wanted to giveaway.  I picked a random winner from a comment from yesterday… and the winner is jessanotherhess.  (BTW… that is how I am giving prizes now – unannounced and given to someone who left a comment on a random day.  Makes it more of a RAK.)

Oh, and I am very behind on my Formspring Q&A page.  However, I promise to get back to it in a week or so.  So sorry.  But when I teach big classes like these, I put my all into it and really want to give a great class.  It sucks up my time. 🙂

Night!

  1. Sure wish I was close enough for one of your classes. Maybe one day. Love that your little guy works with you; you are growing fond memories for you both.

  2. Jennifer, I always feel a little overwhelmed and lost when I come here – so many fabulous creations and so many visitors and comments…. You should consider putting in a little restaurant or something…. ;~D

  3. I love your interpretation of the Amuse stamps. They are one of my personal favorites for the simplicity of their designs. But I need some ideas to give them just a “spark”. I will be looking back at this post in the future!

  4. Good for you jen on the random un-announced RAK. That is the way it should be. You get real comments, rather than mounts of post’s. I have noticed Tim H is doing this more often, which i just fab.

  5. Love the anchor card. and colin is so cute! Got a great helper that’s for sure! I really have to get a cuttlebug to do embossing.

  6. Hi Jennifer, Besides your obvious talent at everthing paper, ink and stamps, one thing you do well is affirm your husband. I love the example you are of a wife that really knows what makes a man feel good about himself. Affirmation is the key, so thank you for all of the ideas on how wives can easily make a huge impact on their marriage. As I am sure you know, when we take the time to do this, we get it back all the more! 🙂 Have a GREAT weekend! 🙂

  7. Colin is too cute for words! What a blessing he must be to your entire family! God bless you for all that you do for all of us! Thanks for all your hard work and generosity.

  8. Wow! Such inspiration today! I am really in love with the striking simplicity of your Pencil “Hello” cards and that sweet pink flower card! The anchor card is pretty cool too. I just bought some of the tiny gingham paper so it looks like I need to get busy with it now. Thanks so much for taking time to share in the middle of your busy week! 🙂

  9. What a wonderful card for your DH 🙂 And your helper is adorable! Have a great time with your class.

  10. I love your “sending you sunshine” card. It is adorable! The embossing folders look awesome. Thank you for the inspiration!
    Take care,
    Kim T.

  11. Jennifer, I love the colored string idea and also the flower embossing folder. Colin sure is a good helper.

  12. I read your blog every time it pops up in my Inbox … and I am ashamed to say I rarely comment. Don’t know why – just don’t. Guess time constraints would probably be the only reason. But … today I want to tell you how much I enjoy your art, your family and your posts. Thank you!

  13. LOVE LOVE LOVE the cards!
I have to say that I went out and bought the scissors that you showed us from Martha Stewart…the “grass” scissors! LOVE them thanks!

  14. The Sizzix folder is cool. I have to make better use of the Cuttlebug!! And I am going to stop being afraid of the crackle paint. Those artistic genes are strong!! I have a question about markers. Copic vs. Tim Holtz alcohol ink pens. Do the Copics have a good shelf life? The Holtz markers are the only i have used so far and I really like them. Filling them is a bit of a challenge.
    Thanks for the help.

  15. I love the Sizzix embossed card! They are all great.

How do you do the stitching on the others though?

  16. I’m playing catch up! Love your gingham and spring cards. Where do you find those sets of plates that you showed for embossing? Thx. 🙂
