Fun with canvas…

Happy Friday.  (Doesn't that statement sound like music to the ears?)

It is snowing like crazy here.  And, unfortunately, I am ready for warm weather.  Just gotta wait…

Thought I would share a card I made for the CHA Ranger booth using Claudine Hellmuth's Sticky Back Canvas.  Boy, do I love this stuff.  It is one of my most-used products for many reasons.  1. It is a great way to add texture to a project without bulk.  2. It frays easy like fabric, but is sturdier and easy to work with.  3. One package goes a long way.  4. There are lots of great stamping techniques you can do right on it.  5. Claudine is so stinkin' sweet.  Fun stuff.

So, this card was actually made from Sticky Back Canvas. I just cut notches in the canvas and tore it to be create straight, already-frayed edges.  (LOVE that.)  I made the piece 5.5"x8.5" and stuck it to a slightly smaller white cardstock piece.  I folded it in half and viola – I have a fabric card I can write in.  I then stamped and heat embossed layers on the front and inked the edges.  All the flowers were painted with Claudine's paints and die cut.  I distressed the edges with my fingernails (to fray) and inked.  Love all the layers.

Supplies: Claudine Hellmuth Sticky Back Canvas; Claudine Hellmuth Paints; Hero Arts definition background, leaf background and greeting; Quickutz dies; Creative Impressions twine; embossing powder; Black Memories Ink; Vintage Photo Distress Ink; Ink Blending Tool and old buttons

Sticky Back Canvas comes in two size packs: 12×12 and 8.5×11.  I get the 12×12 as it is more bang for your buck.  It goes a long way for me as I often use just small pieces.

People have asked if I like Claudine's paints and what make them special. I adore them. They go on like butter and come in outstanding colors.  They are easy to work with and a little goes a long way.  I like that when I paint with them on the canvas, I can heat it to dry so I don't have to wait.  The Modern Red and Landscape Green are my faves.  Delicious.

Have a great day.  Tomorrow we will be working on Valentines gifts, shoveling, our new bathroom and dinner with a dear friend and her new hot man.  Can't wait. 🙂

Take care.
