Cards for Kids update

Hello, everyone!

I am amazed at the number of cards we have received lately for the Cards for Kids.  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, thank you.

In a few days, we will post the lists of cards we have received for these first two months and then will draw the prizes.  (The most recent list is HERE.)

HOWEVER, we will continue the card drive!  There will be new prizes and a few more children will be added in the next week or so.  So we still will take cards!  All the info is HERE – keep 'em coming.

Kate especially needs some love right now.  Especially some cheery cards for her brother and sister.  (Update HERE.  So scary.)

So, please keep the cards coming.  Bless your hearts for doing this for these kids.  The world needs more people like you. 🙂

More tomorrow… need to get on that stinkin' treadmill…

  1. Jennifer, Thanks again for organizing the card drive for these beautiful children. I can only imagine the joy they have when getting all of our cards. May God continue to bless all of our families.

  2. Wow this is a great thing you are organizing. My neice has Stickler Syndrome and it can be rough on her from time to time. So, I know how much the parents and relatives must be going through as well as the kids themselves. Thank you for doing this!

  3. I’ll continue praying for Kate…it sounds like she’s about to go through a lot soon! I can’t imagine how stressful their lives must be right now…

  4. Hi Jennifer, I want to send some cards for the Kids….never have done it and I am new to the stamping world….I will chk your website today on how and where to post. Thanks for letting us in in such a wonderful, satisfying and great cause.

  5. So glad you’re getting lots of cards in for the card drive! Thinking about Kate a lot lately (and praying for her and her family too).

Shh… don’t mention your treadmill to loudly. My exercise bike might hear you. 😉

  6. I’m glad you will be continuing the cards. I wasn’t sure if I got mine mailed in time or not and was hoping that they’d still make it the families!

  7. My kids and I have been busy and have Valentine’s ready to send for all of the kids. We’ll be getting them in the mail soon. This is such a good experience for them and a great way to help brighten someone else’s day.

  8. My local radio station has been doing a 2 day telethon for St. Judes. My mind kept going back to Kate, and all the other children you have been so diligent in rallying for. i signed up to be a Partner In Hope….a little thing, but hopefully enough other people can feel moved to do the same and those little things will become a big thing. Jennifer, thanks for all you do to keep these precious kids lifted up in prayer by so many. God bless Kate’s family and all the other families dealing with things threating their children’s lives…

  9. Thanks to you, Jana, Kristen, Heather and Mary Kay for all you are doing to lead this project of love. May God BLESS these children and their families.

  10. Thanks for keeping us updated on Kate, Jennifer! I will keep her & her family in my thoughts & prayers…hope that time passes quickly for them & that this treatment helps her.

  11. aww…Kate is such a trooper…cannt imagine how hard this is for all of them…we pray for them always…luv the drive efforts…wish I had much more time than I do right now..but working on it..and …could u just put in a mile or two for me? lol…

  12. Wow. Thanks to all who have given. My thoughts and prayer are with Kate and her family. My daughter Kate and I were working on her class Valentine cards when I told her about the cards for kids drive. As predicted, she asked if we could make a few more cards for these children. I hope to have them in the mail soon. May God bless all of the children and their families.

  13. I currently make cards for an organization called “Chemo Angels”…it’s very similar to what you’ve organized here with the Cards for Kids, except that it’s not just children, but also adults who are undergoing chemo treatments and who sign up for the program to receive cards & small gifts on a regular basis. I recently got an email from them saying,
“Tell your friends: Due to the tricky economic times as well as the recent holiday season, quite a few Angels have had to resign during the past few months. We are in serious need of new volunteers. Please help us spread the word! Tell your friends, relatives, neighbors, co-workers — anyone you feel would make a great volunteer. We need Chemo Angels, Card Angels and Senior Angels. Send interested parties to our website, http://www.chemoangels.com or .net to apply. Thank you so much!”
Since there seems to be a lot of people here who are interested in making cards for a cause such as this, I thought I’d pass along the info here. I hope that’s ok, Jennifer! I don’t want to take any cards away from the Cards for Kids, but just a thought in case someone might want to sign up to be a Chemo Angel with this organization as well. 🙂
