Thankful

Hey, there.

Was thinking about some friends that I am feeling especially thankful for these days.  And it reminded me of this card I did last spring.  After making it, I realized that it made more sense to just have two owls, instead of three, so I took the left one off. :)  I used a Bazzill scallop edge piece that was a little smaller than 6×12, folded it and put it on a 7×7 brown sewn piece.  Just wanted to do something different.

050709 three Owls
Supplies: Hero Arts stamps and inks, My Minds Eye patterned paper, Bazzill cardstock, colored pencils.

Let's see… what's next…

People ask a lot about how I find time to do anything.  First, the answer is – I don't.  I really don't find time for everything and fall short at a lot.  But at the end of the day, if I can put down my head on my pillow and be happy for my family, then I am good.  (Which means that my house is never perfect, etc.)  But!  I do look for timesaving measures.

One BIG one I found is Google Reader.  Google Reader has been a HUGE for me and I highly recommend it to anyone who checks out a lot of blogs.  You can see all your blogs in one place.  It shares any new additions.  Fabulous.  HERE is a video from Google explaining in a simple way.  And THIS video shows more details, step-by-step.  I can't recommend it enough.

Other things worth sharing:

  • THIS is one of my favorite blogs lately.  Mariana is so very talented.  Be sure to check it out.
  • I am so excited for my dear friend Lisa Russo and her success.  Check it out HERE.
  • Thrilled that 2Peas has Studio Calico papers HERE.
  • There is a giveaway of one of my favorite stamp sets HERE.
  • Fantastic money tree idea HERE.

Off to catch up on Dexter.  Anyone else addicted?  Will be back with another giveaway.  Reorganizing my scrap studio… again. 🙂

  3. Hi Jennifer, I’m also addicted to Dexter. and if you feel like it, you’re more than welcome to reorganize my scrap room!! it’s a disaster!!! 😉 love your style! Keep up the good work! You are doing great! -Sharon

  4. Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your Technique Bootcamp at Simply Scrapbooks in Dayton on Saturday, 11/21. I enjoyed trying all the different ‘stuff’ and now know what to do with some of the stuff I’ve bought but never used. Thanks. And I hope you come back soon!

  5. Lovely card! Thanks for being honest with us, sometimes I wonder too how you do it =) I have 5 little ones, so it’s comforting to know that one can’t do it all. And yes, thank God for our families!

  6. Will you know beforehand which day you will be in the New York Times? I really would love to have a copy!! Congrats – what a great accomplishment. Thanks again for another great class on Saturday. You are the best!! Loved meeting Colin and Ken. You are one lucky woman!

  7. I love this card. I really do need to pick up one of the owl stamps. My children are grown and on their own. My house is cleaner now, but I’d trade it in a heartbeat for a messy house with little ones to spend my time with instead 🙂

  8. i’m loving the owls!!! makes me want to go out an buy owl stamps! I think the lil hero arts owl is so CuTE! thanks for sharing!

  9. Ok, I actually already commented a thank you for the heads up on the google reader. But now that I’ve played with it a little…. oh my!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! So cool!!

  10. Oh, I love the owl card. Two or three of them on the card is perfect. I love anything owl. I want you to know you have created a monster with the google reader. I watched the videos and have spent a lot of time adding my favorite blogs to the reader. The only drawback I see is that it appears you can’t leave comments on the blogs in Reader. This will save me lots of time until I add more and more blogs to the mix. Thanks for the idea and I hope you and your family have a fabulous Thanksgiving.

  11. Oh my gosh I must have been in a cave all this time! Google Reader is great! I’m hooked thanks for leading me to it. Wish you would teach a class in NE Ohio sometime. Admire all your great work – thanks for sharing

  12. I love the card Jennifer. It really pops out at you! Love those owls and they look like they are coloured. Whatever the case they are way cute! You talk about your home and what you do or do not do there. Will you know it is the same here for the most part. With having some medical issues these past few months, not a whole lot gets done like it use too. My dh is so helpful and things wouldn’t come together if he didn’t pick up the past to compensate for my falling behind. I am so thankful for him. I do love to have a clean and tidy home, but like my dh and I have discussed before, the house work will be there tomorrow waiting, but our child will be growing up and we will wonder where the time went. Hope your having a great day sweetie. May your American Thanksgiving be all that you hope it to be with much love from your family and friends. Blessings

I love your website. I learn so much. I was the winner of the adhesives and for some reason I think my e-mail might be going into your spam folder. I’ll try e-mailing you again. Enjoy! Jennifer

  14. I love the card, it just pops, especially the eyes of the owls. Thanks to your beautiful card creations I have found my mojo to start creating again. Now I just have to find the time to squeeze everything in…lol!

  15. Thanks for the heads up on Google Reader. I had not heard of it, but tried it and am really liking how much more quickly I can get through blogs.

Wish we had cable so I could watch Dexter again. I saw the first season when it was on network tv. Guess I’ll have to rent the DVDs.
