A giveaway and a match made in heaven…

Hey there, stampers.

My friend, Tim, gave me a great idea.  (Once and awhile he has a good idea, huh?  Ha – just kidding. :)  Anyway, I saw that he randomly gave a prize to someone who had left him a comment – without warning.  Love that idea, so I am totally copying.  (Thanks, Tim!)  This may be the new way I give away goodies – just randomly pick a name from any post.  (So, yes, leaving comments is a good thing to do… it lets me know you are out there!)  I picked someone who left a comment a few days ago to win these chipboard goodies from K&Company…

And the winner is Dawn T who left a comment on 11/4. I will email you to get your address.

Next, I wanted to share some cards I made a couple months ago at a retreat.  These were such fun to make because they use two of my favorite stamp companies – Papertrey Ink and Hero Arts – a match made in heaven.  I really like that both of these companies sell made-in-the-USA stamps – the quality results in crisp stamped images.  THIS set from Papertrey is my favorite… it is designed to add buttons to.  Instead, I used little punched circles and shapes of Hero Arts stamped goodness.  (I mostly used THIS and THIS from Hero.)  I then covered them with Glossy Accents for some shine.  Easy to do!  Here they are.  If you have questions on specific stamps, just let me know.  (ETA – the die cuts I used are from Spellbinders.  Love THESE!)

Night-night, everyone.

  1. Looking through many blogs tonight for inspiration for my Christmas cards and came across yours…love the texture on these, so simple and perfect!
    Thanks so much for sharing!

  2. Love that stamp set – just got it myself. Wondering how I will resist al the rest when they come out! Such a cute idea using something other than buttons – love the heart balloons!

  3. Love, love, love all of these cards! OK, I always love your cards but these really jump out at me. I have this PTI Everyday button set and never thought of using the white on white to really make the design stand out. Will definitely be making some cards like these. I would love to know how you made your embossing so defined and deep. I have a couple of the same embossing folders (love them!) and my embossing never turns out so defined. Looks amazing!

  4. love these cards! I am one of the guilty ones of not always leaving comments on the blogs I visit. I will try and do better.

  5. These are so clean and simple. I love the simplicity of cards..it always wins hands down over too busy cards! love them

  6. I saw these cards the other day….and have been thinking about them ever since! They are absolutely gorgeous – and I never stop being amazed at how you re-invent creativity all the time! From “Thinking Inking” to these! Just plain amazing!

  7. HI Jennifer, just catching up a bit on your blog. How did you get the contrasting colour around your labels one die shape? It looks thinner than the gap between the adjacent die sizes (does that make sense???)
