Before I forget (again)… the winners of the brads are Olivia and Gretchyn! I emailed you both to get your addresses.

Next up, here are some cards I did today while Colin was doing the same. (He likes doing art stuff – it is the only way he is like me – he is totally like his dad every other way.)  I just grabbed some scraps that I had collected over the last week, including some extra stamped pieces, embossed pieces, etc.  (I keep these "nicer" scraps in a little basket to use whenever I am too lazy to create new pieces for cards.  Ha.)  Here are the things I came up with.

This first one is using scraps from the card I did yesterday.  (Which, I realized, I think I broke one of Kristina's challenge rules: I used dark brown for the greeting, but that that isn't in the color combo.  Opps.)  I love these stamps that Dawn created!

052109 Rain or Shine Supplies: Papertrey Ink Stamps (greeting and umbrella), Hero Arts (stamp, notecard and pearls), Making Memories paper (ledger 8×8 paper),  October Afternoon paper (patterned teal), Quickutz embossing folder (on the top teal piece – hard to see), SEI paper (dotted teal), EK Success foam adhesive, corner rounder, Memories Black Inkm string

Here is another use-up-some-good-scraps card.  (Click HERE to watch a video showing the technique on the hearts.)

052109 Love You HeartsSupplies: Papertrey Ink Stamp (greeting), Hero Arts stamps (background and on hearts), Hero Arts gems (which appear to not be put on completely), Quickutz embossing folder, EK Success foam adhesive, corner rounder, Distress Inks, Fiskars heart punch

Time for some links.  You all shared some great manufacturer blogs – thanks!  Here are some of them…

Speaking of Basic Grey: OH MY.  That sums up how I feel about their new lines.  OH MY.  I am SO excited to get these lines.  So very pretty…

OH MY.  🙂

I have been spending a lot of time planting.  And buying more and more plants.  Anyone else planting?  Tell me what you like – I am always looking for new flowers to try.  I like lots of color.  Here are two of my many different clematis (the flowers are bigger than my open hand) and a new hanging pot…

  1. Well, I went to every site and added my email address to a lot of them. Guess I’ll have to get up early to read all of them. You have no idea what information you put out in your blog that I find so useful. Thanks for taking the time to check out all these items. We have a plant around our roses called cat mint. It has lovely purple flowers and the leaves have a mint scent. The purple flowers don’t have the greatest smell but are lovely to view. This plant grows and grows and grows. I cut it back and within a week the plant if filling in again. Our landscape architect put it in the front of our house and around our roses. I love to garden, too, and just finished taking pictures of a lot of our flowers and will now make cards out of them. Sorry for the long comment. Thanks again.

  2. We too love our gardens. I have pix on my blog. Knockout roses are awesome. We also love perennials (most are summer bloomers): salvia (purple ‘may night’ and white — hummingbirds really like the tall kind ‘black & blue’), verbena ‘homestead purple’, daisy ‘becky white,’ echinacea and rudbeckia, coreopsis, catmint, lady’s mantle, stokesia, wild geranium, lantana, japanese painted and ghost ferns, clematis.

Favorite spring bloomers are: candytuff, creeping phlox, peonies, solomon’s seal, bleeding heart, ajuga, lamium (last two are ground covers).

Some of our favorite annuals are: impatiens, vinca, double impatiens, caladiums, diamond frost, zinnias.

  4. You are SO going into my favorites section! 🙂 Your little boy layouts are AMAZING. Just the inspiration I need (w/a 19 month old boy).

I just love how your work captures the eye, but is not “over done”… you know? The pictures still speak out loudly and clearly…which I really value in scrapbooking. 🙂

Anyhow – can’t wait to see what you come up with next!!!

  5. More gorgeous cards – and I love your hanging basket! What a lot of flowers. Your little umbrella card is so sweet. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  6. I just checked out the stamps at Papertrey. Wow! I loved them all! I can’t wait to get order some…just have to decide which ones. Any suggestions on which I should start with? I’ve been buying stamps…but still not using them much.

Oh my, what you do with scraps just blows my mind! These two cards are really lovely. You really bring together these stamps, embossing folders and your color combos rock!

I looked at Dawn’s site and love her designs. And that stamps set is so sweet with all the stamps it comes with.

I love hostas they are so easy to care for. I plant herbs to cook with and several double as color in the garden too.

Thanks for the links it will keep me busy this weekend.

  9. I love your clematis. I have one just like yours on the left. I get so excited when all the bud’s show up b/c I know it’s about to explode w/blooms!
This year my hanging baskets have new guinea impatiens, sweet potatoe vine (my fave), variegated verbena, and spiky dracena (sp?). I am loving them. I also love my red caladiums. They are so pretty with white flowers around them. I have pics on my blog if you want to check them out!

  10. Hi Jennifer 🙂 Just stopping in to say thanks for the great ideas (as always) and also, thanks for the beautiful garden pics! I’ve been spending lots of time in my yard this year, too! Love it!

  11. I love Clematis. I lost one of my favorites this winter, so a new one like yours on the left is getting a start.
My iris are really loving all the rain we had and not the hot sunny days are bringing them in bloom…will try to catch some pictures tomorrow on my blog.

  13. Have you ever tried to grow dahlias? We did for the first time last year and OMG! Gorgeous! Check out Connell’s dahlia site for info. http://www.connells-dahlias.com/. Might be too late for this year but they are so worth it! We got a couple of the dinner-plate size and they are HUGE! My daughter loved these flowers and Colin probably would too. I can email you some of my pics if you are interested. Good luck and have a great weekend! Off to check out some of these links!

  14. Jennifer,
