Since I am here sick and Ken stayed home from work, I thought I would post again.

So, thanks for the comments on Facebook.  Here is the thing: I don't have a huge desire to find people from my past.  That sounds bad, but I am just happier with who I am now then I was in the past.  past.  So, I would just do it to keep in touch with mostly my sister-in-law's family in Africa.  Maybe I will try it.  Hmmm.  Also, I can share photos with people that I don't want to publically share.  Not sure.  Hmmm.

OK, since you were all helpful with that… 🙂 … can I ask another question?  What do you do with puzzles for the kids?  Colin is addicted, but we lose pieces a lot.  Have any tips to keeping the pieces together?  Smooch.

I have a couple of cards to share.

First, a Papertrey Ink card I made back in December in a crop.  I just adore these stars, alphabet and boat. :)  This was for my husband.  I tell him a lot that I appreciate all he does.  He does more than a husband should!  (Can you say laundry, grocery shopping, bedtime, picking up, dishes and more…)  Oh, and to make the waves, I punched several circles on blue paper, then trimmed close along it.

And now some Hero Arts fun. I think I was channeling the incredible Julie on this one.  She is so good at the white-card-with-stamped-and-colored-goodness.  (HERE is a good example.)  I LOVE that look.  Here is my not-so-impressive attempt at it.  These are new stamps from Hero!

  2. I hear you on Facebook! Exactly why I didn’t join ( that and the time away from papercrafting is wasted time !!! ) Plastic bags are a good idea for puzzles, plus, we’re trying to insist DD puts one away before getting another out…. Not ALWAYS a success !!!

  3. Jennifer, I hope you’re feeling better today. As usual, your cards are great. I’m going to have to look into these copic pens. I keep seeing them on cardmakers’ blogs lately.

    Also, I felt the same way about catching up with people from my past. I had no interest or need. But it has been nice. Mostly, I’m on facebook interacting with *newer* friends, online friends I’ve met through message boards and blogging, and I also enjoy some of the facebook applications (games, virtual farming, sending virtual gifts to your friends, etc.)

  4. Adorable cards! I absolutely love your waves. Another thing about FB… if you decide to join, you can also adjust your settings so that people can’t “add” you as a friend (or essentially request you as a friend). That might weed out a whole ton of “friend requests” that you may not want. And though I haven’t personally done it, I know you can fine-tune privacy settings so that certain people on your friends list (e.g. a “family” list you can create) can see all your photos, whereas those who are “just friends” can see certain ones you allow.

    Regarding puzzles… our kids love puzzles! We keep all our puzzle boxes, so I try to keep all the puzzle pieces in their respective box. But of course, there are still random lost ones that we haven’t recovered yet. I try to encourage my kids to do one at a time. I let them enjoy the assembled puzzle for a time, but when I notice they’re starting to get kind of crazy or move on to other toys, I encourage them to put the puzzles away first. Not sure if that helps you any, but that’s my two cents. 🙂 Hope you’re feeling better!

  5. Your sailboat card is really cute. About the puzzles, we try to only play with one at a time and at a table. Then we put the pieces back in the box or in a ziploc bag, plastic see thru boxes would work well too. I also store them out of my children’s reach. There are the only toys I have much of a control over. lol

  6. Our local library had a great idea. You put a number or letter on the back of each puzzle piece (the same number or letter for the entire puzzle) so you know which piece belongs to which puzzle. Brilliant!

    Hope you feel better soon.

    My son loved puzzles when he was little and we had a ton. I used to write a number on the back of each of the puzzle pieces and the corresponding number on the bottom or top of the box. If a piece was left out, we knew right away which puzzle it belonged to. When the boxes got torn up, we cut off the top and transferred everything to a baggie and stored them in a plastic container.
    I used to teach and also did the number thing with the puzzles at school.
