Photos and classes

Many people have emailed me asking about photos from our trip.  Ken loaded some HERE.  Just go to the link and click "slideshow" on the top right to flip through them.  He took some amazing photos!  If you have questions about specific places we stayed, just let me know.  The pictures are from Virgin Gorda, Marina Cay (a tiny island with 3 people living there) and Saba Rock (an even tinier island).

Also, I thought I would let you know about my upcoming classes at Stamp Your Art Out.  There are classes on January 29th, February 19th and March 12th.  Each class will be different – no cards will be repeated.  Call 513.793.4558 if you are interested.  (I am not sure if they are filled or not.)

Just a quick card share before I go.  This is a super fast one.  I just stamped with black ink on the green notecards.  I then used a white pen to color in the flowers and added purple gems.  Added shading to the leaves with colored pencils, then colored over the shading with a clear glitter pen.  Simple.

Kindness Flowrs
Hero Arts stamps (greeting and flower) and gemstones
Ranger White Inkessentials Pen
Prismacolor colored pencils
Copic clear glitter pen – love it and this store is great
Fiskars corner rounder

Not my typical style, but I love to try out new things.

Take care!

  1. Jennifer, those photos are gorgeous!!!!! Tell Ken he did a great job! I could almost feel and smell the ocean breezes. And the card is very pretty – like the flowers colored in with the white pen.

  2. Oh, how pretty!!!! I am going to try this with … goodness, I MUST have a similar stamp in my collection!

BTW, where are you located? 513 = Ohio to me! I am originally from Dayton.

  3. Just looked through your vacation photos and they are stunning. Would he mind answering a couple of questions? If so, I was wondering if they he’s manually setting the camera before each shot, and also if the photos are edited before posted? They truly look like images you’d see on a calendar or postcard. The colors are incredible.
Please thank him for sharing his talents with your readers. I can only imagine how creative Colin will be given his parents skills. Thank you.

  4. WOW is all I can say…did you have the whole island to yourselves? Beautiful photos….it was like looking at postcards, they were all gorgeous! I agree with Angela…please tell all about the settings, what camera you used..any PS editing…Thanks for sharing! It felt like I was there…LOL…only if it was for a few minutes.

  5. Wow! Sitting here with my feet embedded in slippers and still feeling the chill in snowy, freezing Quebec, I have to say those vacation pictures made me really jealous. 🙂 Isn’t there somewhere in the Caribean I could be learning French?

  6. Jennifer your vacation photo’s are so very amazing just looking at them is relaxing! Can you share how to go about making reservations for this wonderful little trip to paradise!

  7. Wow! Amazing pictures. They looked like postcards. He should go into that as a (side) business. He took some great shots. I want to go there. Thanks for sharing your vacation pictures – so beautiful. Have fun a CHA.

  8. The picture of you could be a postcard. Tell hubby nice job! Love the card. I just got that white pen from Ranger-best I’ve used. You always manage to get my creative juices flowing. AWESOME as always!

  9. Jennifer, I LOVED looking at Ken’s pictures. He made me feel like I was really there. I could feel those palm breezes all the way to California! How did you find this place? The water was so crystal clear, the sand looked inviting, and Colin was adorable in all his pictures. You looked pretty good in that black dress, too. So happy. Please thank you husband for allowing all of us to view his stupendous pictures. I’m surprised he isn’t a professional. He has that creative eye, just like you!

  13. Wow, the photo looks like something out of a travel mag, even better. I’m so jealous, we are stinkin’ hot here but not an ocean breeze to be felt. The card is very cute.

  14. J – I wanted to tell you that I’ve been keeping up with what’s happening with Lipstick Jungle because I LOVE IT and here’s the latest…

On January 9, 2009 the last produced episode of Lipstick Jungle aired. As it was advertised as a season finale, the true status of the show is unknown. Over 23,000 people have currently signed a petition to save the show online.

On January 15, 2009 it was announced that the show is not yet cancelled and could be brought back for episodes based on how the new pilots are doing.[11]

Here’s a link to the petition!

  15. Wow, what a talented man you have! Amazing photos of a truely awesome place (nice job on the creating, Lord!) Thank you for letting us see places most of us are never likely to visit. So glad you had such a fantastic time away. Hope you’re having a fun time at the exhibition.

  16. WOW!! The photos are perfect – loved them. What type of camera does he use?? Does he use any filters? I can almost bet he uses a manual focus and settings – I am thinking he should be a guest on your blog!! Loved the card as well. So crisp and elegant!!

  17. Great photos, thanks for sharing. I noticed a lot of Longhorn attire…are y’all fans or did you or your hubby attend school there? I have lived here in Austin almost 27 years. I didn’t go to school at UT but sometimes I wish I had. Hook’Em Horns!

  18. Jennifer,
It’s 4 degrees right now in my world… We are at 3,500 feet with lots of snow/ice.. As a born and raised ‘California Girl’ who is transplanted in Eastern Oregon, believe me when I say…..
I love that photo and can easily imagine myself in that hammock! Awesome shot… It says so much!!!!

  19. Wow!! I keep picturing myself lying in a hammock in the sun instead of in the cold white north. 🙂 ALL of the pictures are breath-taking. I want to live in the part of heaven that looks like that! I’m sure going there must be good for the soul. 🙂

  20. That photo is GORGEOUS! I am going to go and check out the others. I’m sure they are just as gorgeous! Wow. What a nice getaway! 😉 LOVE that beautiful card, too! Hope you are having fun at CHA, my friend! Wish I could have gone! I’d love to meet you and give you a big ol’ hug! 🙂

  21. Fabulous photographs…who is the Texas Longhorn fan? I live in Austin and work at UT in the business school. Isn’t it a small world. Regards, Charlotte

  22. Great picture! I didn’t look at all of them though, just the one posted here. love the card as well (as usual!)

What did you think about the Bachelor??? I was so glad to see that all 3 of my least faves got sent home at the end when he didn’t hand out that last rose…

  23. Great job Mr. Photo Expert Ken. The pictures are beautiful. I liked the card too,Jennifer. Sometimes simplicity is a good choice for dramatic effect.

  24. Jennifer

Your vacation photos are amazing! The colors warm your soul. I am sure to be there has no words to tell of the view.
I really like #66 of you in the black dress and so many others of the water and trees.

I am signed up for two of the three. March is not on the books yet. I hope to see you this week or next depending on weather.

This card is so cute looking. The colors are perfect.

I hope you are having a blast at CHA. If you have time or remember taking a peek at the Cuddle Bug embossing folders for me. I have not found a photo or video on the web yet. I and so hooked on these. Thanks for getting me hooked.

Weather home here you are not missing much but snow and ice. No school the past two days. Enjoy the warm weather and sunshine in CA.

    Happy Stamping

  26. Wow – those photos are just amazing. I am lucky enough to live in So California but those colors are so vivid. Guess they don’t have all the smog that we do here.
