Want to meet an angel? And win a giveaway? :)

(Warning: This is a long post.  But keep reading – it is worth it. 🙂

Know any angels?

I know one.

Her name is Connie Williams.

She owns my local stamp store, Stamp Your Art Out.  And owns a stamp company called Verses Stamp Company.

Why is Connie an angel?  She is extremely giving.  She is constantly doing fundraisers to support Hospice. She is thoughtful in many ways.

So… a couple days ago, I got an email from her offering $100 to help pay to ship the cards for the Card Drive to Africa.  I was floored!  That will be so very helpful.  (I had intended to cover the costs of shipping the prizes and shipping the cards, so this was a nice gesture on her part.)

I encourage you to visit her online store.  She has all greeting stamps for every occasion… even those hard-to-find ones. Here are some cards I did with Verses stamps…

Here are some of my other favorite Verses stamps:

  • On THIS page, "BB0601-E Twinkle, Twinkle" is a clever birthday stamp. Oh, and I LOVE vertical greetings like "BB0424-C Happy Birthday Vertical."
  • THIS page has great stamps about faith.
  • On THIS page, I have to get "S0117-B Even More."
  • "Get Well" cards are tough.  THIS page has a great ones: "W0626-F Cozy & Comfy."
  • On THIS page, "QQ0837-F Souls in this world" is fun for a friend. Another good one is "QQ0833-D Friends Beside You".  This was in FABULOUS for any Christians out there: "QQ0834-D God's Promise."

She also has cool card and envelope templates HERE. This is my favorite…

And $2 rub-ons?  Woohoo!  Look HERE.

Thanks again, Connie.  This world needs more angels like you!

Now… time for a giveaway!  Connie gave me a few stamps to give as prizes here.  So, leave a comment telling me what your favorite greeting message is (can be as simple as "thank you") on this post by Thursday at 11:59PM and I will pick TWO winners of theses TWO stamps:

  1. My favorite would be “sending you hugs” and “thinking of you”. These statements can apply to all types of cards. Love the ones that you create! Really enjoy your blog.

  2. I have a question. On that “Sending you a Hug” card you mention the cuttlebug embossing folder. Is that for the raised dots on the kraft paper? If so, which one is it. I haven’t seen the larger dot yet (only swiss dots) and where can I find it? Thanks.

  3. So glad your getting a little help on the shipping! the kids are going to love all the cards and little gifts…
My very favorite wording right now is the HA Enjoy Every moment…it just fits on lots of my cards….

  4. My favorite and go to stamp is Just for you… its always seems to work perfectly on the front of any card!!

I’m heading to check out Connies online store!! Have a great night!

  5. thanks for the store link – I’m now shopping! lol

my 2 faves for cards are “thank you” and “thinking of you” – they work for so many situations!!!!

  6. Thinking of you is my favorite. I also like Make A Wish for birthday greetings. I love to hear stories like this one about Connie and her kind and generous soul. It warms the heart.

  7. What a generous gift! I seem to use ‘thinking of you’ the most on my cards … but after looking at her webpage, I think I’m going to buy ‘Take time to Laugh, it’s the music of the soul’. Love that!

  8. I”m a fan of “thinking of you”. Because really, isn’t that what we’re doing when we’re creating and sending a card to someone?

  9. one of my favorites is this:

although close together we can’t be
just exactly at quarter of three
pour yourself a cup o’ tea
    i’ll think of you
    and you think of me!

i just LOVE that quote, kinda ties right in there with “thinking of you” in a long-about way!

also like “cheering up is my specialty”

  10. Great cards and what a wonderful new site. Thanks for pointing us that way. My favorite greeting is Happy Day. (It’s one the Lord has made!)

  11. I’m a card angel for an organization called Chemo Angels. I’ve been assigned a buddy who currently has stage IV breast cancer, and I send her a card or some sort of goody once a week. I think either of these stamp sentiments would be great for a card for her.

Thanks for such a great blog, Jen — wonderful ideas and inspiration!

  12. Love “sending you a hug.” Says it all from sympathy to thanks or birthday or friendship. Gonna have to order the stamp of that one!

Thanks for all of your inspiration, not only as a crafter but as a person. You ROCK!

  13. I just like a simple “hi” or “thinking of you”…very versatile! Thanks for the chance to win & thanks for sharing all the cool stuff Connie has to offer!

  14. Jennifer, Not so much a greeting, but I put this quote on the first page of the scrapbook I made of my three kids on their very first trip to Disney three years ago. Their ages were 17, 9 and 3. “It doesn’t matter where we go, as long as we’re together. At different ages on these pages, we’ll be on vacation forever.” (Laucher) Thought that was so sweet, as when I look at that scrapbook those moments in time are truly frozen forever. Also, I LOVE the Verses quotable “That it will never come again is what makes life so sweet!” You are right, VSC has such a great variety of stamps, I really like them. Would LOVE to win this “Sending you a Hug”, the font is SO cute! Love it! Thanks for the fun!

  15. I think the one I like the most is “thank you” and I need to make more of those for my family. I don’t know where I would be without them and I think I will go make some right now!

  16. Jennifer, my favorite stamp greeting is Thank you for your Thoughtfulness. Your cards are lovely. What you are doing for your family is beyond awesome! You are also in the angel category. I visited Connie’s site and ordered a number of things. Love all the sentiments she has available. She is another generous angel. Continue your good work and sharing your wonderful talents.

My favorite sayings are Thank you, Miss you and sending you a hug!

  18. My favorite saying is in the Verses faith section, and it is simple and to the point: “In God We Trust”. I think it says it all, and in only 4 words.

  19. I just love the verses about the sea ! they are my all time favorite. BUT all verses are great when making cards, I love this site some great stamps! thanks for the
RAK and heads up on the site ! YOU ROCK!

  20. Wow..thanks to Connie. She is an angel!
I think my favorite these days is: Happy Day or Happy Birthday. I seem to be sending cards out for either a Birthday or just because. Thanks for great giveaway Jennifer. I think you’re an angel too!

  21. Your cards are awesome as always!! My favorite greeting message would be “thinking of you” or “a happy hello”… Anyway, thanks for the giveaway!

  22. I love a thinking of you sentiment! It’s always so nice to let someone who is unexpectant know that they’ve been on your mind. It could rekindle a friendship or just reconnect you with someone.

Wait to go Connie! God Bless her for helping out. Thanks for the giveaway Jen!

  23. I really like the sentiment “Though our words can do little…” It’s perfect for a sympathy card or to send to someone with a serious illness. SOmetimes the right sentiment is hard to find on those occasions.

  24. “I miss you” “I love you” “from the heart” are few of my favorite messages…..I agreen she’s an angel….but, with “Card Drive for kids”, you’re an angel too! I hope you received my cards on time…

  25. i’m all about the sentiments, so i can’t pick just one, but i have a huge collection of different happy birthday sentiments…and still never have the “right” one 🙂 thanks for the chance to win

  26. My favorite is “Happy Unbirthday!” It’s an everyday (but one!) sentiment. And shouldn’t we celebrate everyday? 😉

Love stopping by your blog – there’s always something uplifting, inspirational or fun to see! Thank you.

  27. Thank you so much! For your inspiration, your giving spirit, and for sharing this website with us. I only have a few basic stamps with my favorites being “Thinking of you” and “Love”. Now I know where to go to get just about any sentiment that I might want for my cards. Thanks again,
    Jo in Chandler, Az

  28. most used would be ‘happy birthday’ and I like ‘may your day be as special as you are’.
Everyones favourites are really good, there are some really cool little verses out there.

  29. My favorite stamp to use for cards has been, “Believe” and “thank you”. We are very active in March of Dimes and make many cards for fundraising and thanks for contributions. My son,who we formed our team for, does alot of the stamping himself.

  30. I love “Sending you a hug”. I have been looking for something along the lines of “Wishing you a speedy recovery”

  31. HI Jennifer!

My favorite greeting message at the moment is “a little birdie told me…” – as I am obsessed with cute little birdies at the moment. Hero Arts has some great ones I am really enjoying.

Thanks for the chance to win!
