Happy 4th!

Happy 4th!

Yes, I am a loser. 🙂  It is the 4th and I am at home.  It is rainy here, and the kids go to bed early in our house.  So, I am sitting on the sofa posting here. 🙂  We had a fun dinner with my family and Jana (who is totally part of our family) and it was fun.

Oh!  And speaking of Jana… she has a giveway on her blog today!  Go HERE to enter to win the Designing With Cards book – a favorite of mine.

Here is a card share for today.  The little bird is stamped on white and punched, then added on top of a button.

The set used on this is one of my favorites.  There is so much on it!  And it is in stock HERE.

Also, I have a video that was on Hero’s blog yesterday.  You can see it HERE.

Again, I hope you had a good day.  And for all of you with family/friends serving our country – big big hugs.

  1. Hi Jennifer,
It’s about 10:30pm here and everyone is in bed! We have a golf course down the street from our house so every 4th, everyone comes out and stand there and watches the fireworks. We ran into some neighbors that moved away and still come back to the neighborhood to see the fireworks from down the street!
The boys went bananas! They loved it!
Also, we had a barbecue at my folks and it was hilarious. If you could see all the “classic american food” on one side of the kitchen…hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, etc…and then on the other side, it was “Little Italy” with lasagna, calamari, home made bread, tiramisu…you would have loved it. All my friends and their families come and it’s just mayhem!
So, happy 4th, you are NOT A LOSER..you are a ROCK STAR!

  2. such a cute card jennifer! no exciting 4th of july plans here either. we never buy any fireworks … but we sat outside and watched the neighbors do all theirs for a little bit. my girls lost interest super fast … so we came back and they went to bed. lol!

  3. Hi Jennifer!

I am so glad you are at home because that means I get to read another blog post from you before I head off to bed! Have only recently discovered your blog and love it – especially the videos. Full of inspiration and your cards are gorgeous, makes me dying to get into my craft room and play although I never have time…we had no plans either for the 4th – we have a 7 month old (our first baby!!) so every day is on her time!!! Have a great weekend!

  4. Nah – not a loser. Just say you were on European schedule at the time. …or that you were busy making a beautiful card, so that a Swedish girl should have something NICE and PRETTY to look at when she woke up – considering that she didn’t get to see any beautiful fireworks last night? Very thoughtful of you. I appreciate it!! *nodnod*
    😉

  5. I actually look forward to those “loser” days. You know the kind where everyone else is out of town, most of my neighbors are elderly and the younger ones head up north (I’m in Michigan)there are no lawn mowers going, absolutely NO traffic noise, no kids in the ball field or on the playground,(my backyard is next to the local little league field and playground) no kids bickering and not even the dogs are barking? now thats wierd. No bass thumping cars flying through the subdivision! While most of the time I enjoy the noise of middle America it’s just in the background of my life, every now and then it is so beautiful to hear NOTHING all day. To have no schedule to adhere to and no where I absolutely have to be, except I am going to church this evening. So enjoy your quiet time while you can, because real life schedules will be in full swing come Monday morning! Savor these “loser” days to look back on when your schedule is so full you don’t know how you’ll get it all done, when your pulled in five different directions and you have said yes to everyone and you can’t remember why. Love your work and your husbands photos should be published, they are fantastic!

  6. I would have loved to do nothing yesterday! 😉 I ended up having a last minute cookout because the weather had been so unpredictable so I ran around like crazy buying food and supplies while dh cleaned the house and cooked and then after feeding the masses we took 7 children (11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 and 3)to the Fireworks for the 2nd night in a row. It was awful. They were tired and crying and falling asleep and begging to go home….I am so glad we didn’t walk!!! Next year they will nap! 🙂

I am doing nothing for the next 2 days….Well I may sit and ponder how you would get that card in an envelope! 🙂

I love it. I think it just looks bigger on my screen than it is IRL? Right?

    Happy 4th!

  7. Great card Jennifer! Love the colours and the bird on the button is just too cute!!
Just got back from state side where we spent BOTH the 4th and Canada Day (if that doesn’t make this Canadian girl a loser….) Anyways, I did my fair share of supporting the American economy while I was down and I think at least 1/2 of my purchases were enabled (I mean inspired) by you. 🙂 I’ll have to take a pic…
Have a great rest of the weekend!

  8. Happy Belated 4th to you and your family! I loved this card, and the purple and green together is such a fresh looking combination. And the image on the button is a great idea! I am filing that one away for future use 😉
Have a great summer, it’s great that you have such fun company down in your room while the kids are on summer break.
