Winner! And some other stuff…

Hey, everyone!

We have a winner!  SmilynStef!  I will email you so I can get your book in the mail.

Thanks to everyone for sharing your favorite new products.  Looks like we have many things in common: Doodlebug Loopy letters, Cuttlebug, flocking stuff, everything scallop, Glue Dot roller dispenser, thickers, MM Noteworthy line, grungeboard, and more.

I worked outside today… working along next to the many cicadas. (On one hosta, I counted 72 of those buggers!)  Hope you all had good weather, too.  Thankfully, I did manage to also shoot some videos to edit in the next few days.  (God bless my dear son for taking 3 hour naps. πŸ™‚

A simple share before I go up and crawl into bed.  This one just shares how cutting up your clear stamps can make a big difference with greetings.  Notice the greeting, "thank you for being my friend" in the set below?

Look how different it looks on this card.  I just gently cut the stamp between the words and mounted them vertically, making it work perfectly for this card.

053108 Butterfly

Hero Arts stamps (butterfly, greeting & background), notecards and gems
May Arts ribbon
Colorbox Chalk Ink Rose Petals
Memories Black Ink
Prismacolor colored pencils (to add shading to butterfly)

More tomorrow.  Have a good night!

  1. i’ve been noticing lately so many scrappers cutting up their stamps to move the words around. i would have never thought to cut a stamp before now … but i love the idea and how it will give you more options!

  2. Great card Jenn. I’m too afraid to cut my stamps! My 2 year old son takes a 3 hour nap too (to the minute)…its my time to scrap too.
Hee hee…I always seem to come here a couple of minutes after Laura Vegas!

  3. Cute card, I love the idea of cutting stamps….I am just too afraid! Same with unmounting wooden stamps (which everyone seems to be doing, I just can’t!!) lol!!

    Looking forward to the videos!

  4. I like the sentiment stamped the way you did it… you really do get a lot more versitility when you cut the words apart!

You lucky Mom’s with the good sleepers…. my 1st was never a good napper…45 min was “good”…anything over an hour and I’d be checking the baby monitor (turn it way up to hear breathing, then back down so I wouldn’t jump out of my skin when he screamed upon awaking)….2nd was a slightly longer napper, but both stopped napping at two years of age! The good news? It was not a fight to get them to bed at night at 7:30. They were tired!

I liked the bumps on the paper from your video earlier today, using a Crop-a-dile….. very clever! Thanks for sharing that!

  5. I tried to cut up my clear stamps, but the little buggers kept screaming, LOL! Seriously, I think this is a great idea and will doit as soon as the situation (or the card) warrants.

  6. Beautiful card! So nice and summery! Glad you had nice weather yesterday. We had thunderstorms…. but I LOVE to watch them from the comfort of our home. πŸ™‚

  7. Love the card – how did you do the stamp?? Did you use markers before stamping? Or use a white ink and then color in with watercolor pencils? Oh, please keep those cycadias down south – I cannot stand those things!!! hehehehehe

  8. Love this! I finally took the plunge and cut up a Hero sentiment stamp last week…not nearly as painful as I thought it might be! πŸ˜‰

  9. Your cards and videos are next to none! And terrific tips. Clear stamps are an addiction. WOW, hope to see you again this year at CHA. I have your picture up from last year on my blog-right side with Shari Carrol and Rachael Greig at the 2Peas party. It’s a great shot!

  10. Hello, Jennifer! I just wanted to stop by and thank you–it was truly a treat for me to see your comment regarding the Designer Swap over at the Hero Blog. Ever a fan, Julie

  11. Oh wow! Such a pretty card, Jennifer! So bright and cheery. πŸ™‚ The thought of cutting up my clear stamps still makes me totally cringe LOL, but I promise… one of these days, I’ll give it a shot. (Can’t believe I just said that…..)

I miss those ‘little one’ naps. *sigh* πŸ™‚

  12. I love how you have made the stamp more functional. It is a great idea, I just have to get over the fact that I am cutting a stamp. I should think of it as not being any different then cutting out unmounted rubber, right? πŸ™‚
