Using Favorites

One of the coolest and most useful new features of my site is the ability to quickly save your favorite videos and blog posts.  With a single click of the mouse, you can add to your list of favorites.  It’s even easier than adding a bookmark!  If you haven’t created a login account for this site, take a moment to do so here.  You’ll need an account to take advantage of Favorites, as that’s the only way we know who you are and can save the favorites!

The first place you’ve probably seen the “Add to Favorites” button is at the top of every blog post above the title.    Every post has this, both new and old.

Add Blog Post Favorite

All you need to do is click the button and you’ve added your first favorite!  Find a favorite post, and give it a try!

To see your favorites, just click the green star next to the social icons on the top of any page.

You’ll be taken to a page that shows all your Favorites.

Favorites List

When viewing your list of favorites, you can click the image to directly watch the video.  You can also click the name of the post to view the entire blog entry.  If you ever want to remove it, just click “Remove from Favorites”.  This removal link will show up anywhere you can add to favorites.  So it’s really easy to add or remove from Favorites.

Another cool use for Favorites, and I think the best, is the ability to browse videos and store them in your Favorites list.  As part of the new site, we also made all my old and new videos available and easily searchable from a single location.  Just go to the Videos link on the toolbar and you will see a searchable list of techniques, themes and companies.

Videos Link

This is incredibly useful when you’re searching across a list of technique videos, and you want to keep track of cool ideas you want to try later.  Feel free to go crazy and add as many favorite videos that you want to view later!

If you’re reading a blog post that you think has a cool technique that you don’t want to forget, just mark it as a favorite!  If you’re searching videos that have cool techniques that you want to watch later, just mark it as a favorite!  This way you won’t have to manage all the videos and blog pages as browser bookmarks, which can easily get lost.  Plus the favorites show up from any device, as long as you’re logged in.  So create an account here if you don’t have one, and login to try the new feature!

Hope you enjoy!  Jen
