So sad it is the last day!

Today we will both be using the Hero Arts Dots and Flowers background and the Papertrey Ink Blooming Button Bits set… along with the color green.

Here is my card. I broke our monochromatic rule slightly: just had to add blue felt flowers…


The vase is covered with Glossy Accents for shine and I used THIS white pen to add some white dots to the background pattern. Was good to break out this background stamp again – I used to use it a ton.

Those adorable felt roses were made with THIS die set from My Favorite Things. So easy to do and I just love how they look in felt…

Today we both used the Hero Arts Cuckoo Set and the Papertrey Ink Retro Backgrounds… with the color brown.

I have been hosting the blog week over at Hero Arts this week, focusing on using kraft paper. I *love* THIS kraft paper and THESE kraft notecards. They are dreamy. So, I decided to use kraft for today’s card…

I stamped the clock and then masked it before stamped the background with Frost White Ink. It is amazing how bold that white is on kraft. I then colored in the image heavily with colored pencils and added highlights with a white pencil. And finally… Glossy Accents on the clock face…

Simple. I like that sometimes.

Today we are both using the Hero Arts Blossom Art and the Papertrey Ink Polka Dots II with the color turquoise. (Turquoise is my favorite color to craft with.)

I will totally admit – I struggled with this. Not sure why – I love the stamps and the colors. I think I was expecting it to come together quickly, so when it wasn’t, I got frustrated. It happens, right?

It is hard to see but there is a MFT die-cut window opening with a dark stamped panel inside. Love window cards – Hallmark doesn’t do that. :)

I white heat embossed the flower on white cardstock. And to make it match the background stamping perfectly, I rubbed the same Soft Pool Ink over the flower to color… and added shading to the middle with Broken China Distress Ink. The tiny dots and the dots inside are from the Papertrey Ink set.

Today we will both use the Hero Arts Simply Handmade and Papertrey Ink Button Boutique stamps with the color pink.

I decided to make an envelope bag to hold some embellishment goodies to give to a new crafty friend. Yep – that little bag is made from an envelope and is so easy to do. (Click HERE to see a great video my friend Lisa did showing an envelope bag creation.) I love how it is the perfect size for a stamp, an ink pad or a few crafty embellishments…

Inside the little bag are these handmade treats…

I love how the images on the Hero Arts set fit perfectly in the Papertrey pieces. Oh, and I made the clay flowers and light pink buttons. (I will finally get around to sharing a video on this next week.) The others I bought on Etsy…

For these pieces, I use Jenni Bowlin Cotton Candy Ink, Hero Arts Latte Chalk Ink and some fun textured Bazzill cardstock. So fun to create.

Each day this week, Dawn and I will be using the same Hero Arts and Papertrey Ink stamps to create cards. And for even more fun, we will be doing monochromatic cards – a different color every day.

Here is today’s combo – the Hero Arts 3 Silhouettes and Ledger, along with the Papertrey Ink Mat Stack 4 Collection… all in purple…

I decided to use these stamps together to make a set of bookmarks for my oldest step-daughter, Kay. She loves to read and likes purple. Perfect.

The bookmark is actually cut from a Hero Arts notecard. It simply slides over the top of your page in a book to keep your place…

On a couple of them, I kissed the silhouette stamp to another stamp for some added texture. I used all Hero Arts papers and inks…

And do you see how perfectly cut those silhouettes are? Yea… I didn’t do that. :) I actually used the Silhouette for that. Hero Arts now offers die cut downloads that are perfectly sized for many of our stamps. You just buy it, download it and open it. It automatically opens in Silhouette to the perfect size to cut. Simply stamp your image on it and you are good to go. Cool, huh?
