Happy Sunday.
I thought I would share a project I created for Tim Holtz to use in his Idealogy booth at CHA.
It is bright, huh? I think it stood out too much in the booth – ha. But I wanted to show how you can get a completely different look with the same product. I tend to do that with Tim's products – show how you can use it for a totally different look.
Configurations are Tim's fabulous dimensional shadow boxes. And boy are they fun. LOVE them.
Colin loved helping me with this. It was actually super simple to make.
I first painted all the pieces I wanted to use white. These pieces are actually from his soon-to-be-released Print Tray Configurations. I just used the pieces I wanted and saved the others for another project. (The price of these Configurations is really quite good.)
I then painted the soon-to-be-released Tim Holtz letters with bright colors. Couldn't just use black.
And Colin and I collected some of his favorite things to fill the boxes, adhering with hot glue…
Can it get any brighter?
Such fun. After I was done, I adhered all the boxes together with a glue gun.
And Colin loves it. It sits in his room on his dresser.

I love these boxes especially how you did something totally different that Tim’s. Now I just have to get one and try my hand at it!
Great idea–love it! Would love to try something similar, the possibilities are endless! Thanks for the chance to win.
I love your take on this! I often find some of the samples a bit too “grungy” for my home. Thanks for providing the inspiration to go bright (and the chance to win).
I would be thrilled to win a configurations box, I have been longing to play with one. This configurations tray about your son is so fabulous. What a wonderful way to capture what it means to be four! The little books are precious, please let us know where you found them!

This is such a great example of why I still love scrapbooking so much – the same product by two different people and two completely different results!
Ten years into this craft and I still get inspired to do more:)
Great job, Jennifer (and Colin)!
That looks like a fun project!
I enjoy the way you use items in different ways than they are originally shown. Great way to think outside the “box”.
What a great keepsake. Colin sounds like a sweet little guy!
Awesome project! Thanks for the chance to win some goodies.
What a cute project. I loved the Legos and the chopped off crayons….and of course, the car, but the books…. woweee…. you are so clever….
Would love to win configurations…. fun….
I would love to win this because I’m planning on doing something special for a dear friend’s wedding this summer and this would be just the ticket!
What a lovely box – great to look back on in a few years & see what he was enjoying in 2011.
I absolutlely love your configuration box! So brigh, so cherry and so adorable with all those “kid” things! BTW, love the crayons! So cute
It’s so cute!
More videos please! I found so much inspiration from you. Thanks!
what a wonderful project!
So so cute and creative. Love it all the way.
Thanks for the chance to win! I already got inspired!
Very fun. I never would have guessed it was a Tim Holtz product if you hadn’t told us!
What an amazing project! I want to do one for each of my girls! Thanks for the inspiration.
Awwwe! So cute! I bet Colin loves it!
Beautiful! and so much fun – would love to win this!
Love what you’ve done for Colin. I’m hoping to make one for my son and put in his first shoe and some of the things he used to be interested in when he was little. I’ve found that scrapbooking takes me too long and I can’t put the real things that meant so much to him & me in them as they are too bulky, photos just aren’t the same!
Wow, that is great! Thanks for sharing a little different take on how to use the product. This is actually much closer to my own style!
Love your project and would love to win this to create my own:) Thank you for the chance!
hugs,
Norma
Oh that is so super-cute!! I think it’s always good to see what a variety of people create with the same materials – that’s the joy of creativity, no boundaries, and limitless opportunities!
