And that is what I was going for when I put this into my son’s lunch. (He never has a treat in there, so I am sure he was thrilled.)

The best part? This was so easy to make. (For more information on it, you can head over the the Paper Crafts Connections blog. There are some other kids ideas there, too.)

Start with a 10 ¼” x 4” piece of cardstock (I used Bazzill) and add score lines at 2”, 2 ¼”, 6 ¼”, and 6 ½”. That is it! Just fold it up and you have a cookie holder. I also added a die cut window with the new Lawn Fawn Puffy Star die to the front panel so you could see the cookie inside. Here is what it looks like unfolded…

After I put a cookie in, I used an old Thicker letter sticker to hold it closed.

I had to add some stamping, of course… with a repeated Hero Arts circle (a great image!) and a Paper Smooches pencil. And I stretched a die cut banner (with a computer-generated greeting using the Ever After free font) across the star opening.

Here is a look at the awesome Lawn Fawn Puffy Star nesting dies set I used for the window. Adorable, huh?

And the repeated circles? It is from this Hero Arts set. Lots of good images here for building backgrounds on many styles of cards.

Today I am hosting the Paper Crafts Connections blog… sharing some ideas for using photos on cards. (Be sure to comment here AND head over to the PC blog for a chances to win some goodies!) I also used “scrapbook supplies” on the cards, too. I shared two cards there, and have a third for you here…

Whenever I get around to getting photos printed, I always order extra to add to cards. Grandmas LOVE cards with photos! I used some FUN goodies from Chic Tags on these (the greeting and sunbeam pieces), along with my new favorite 6×6 paper pad from Pebbles.

Those hearts scattered on there? They make my heart giddy. Just used Lawn Fawn and Simon Says Stamp heart dies and covered the die cuts with Glossy Accents.

(Wow – Lila was so small in these – just 2.5 months!)

And another… using many of the same supplies. I used the heart dies to cut from Chic Tags doily pieces. Easy. Oh, and I crossed out “me” and made it “us.” Now it is perfect for my husband…

The little dots? Those were done with Silver Liquid Pearls. And the white hearts? They are covered with White Enamel Accents…

And the third one – no photo, but quick and easy…

I really LOVE these Chic Tags products and have been stalking their instagram page since CHA. I think I was drawn the color palettes and fun design. I was so happy to finally get some to play with. They are very well suited for scrapbooking and Project Life, but also work great with card making. Good stuff…

And that patterned paper I used? I LOVE it. It is from my current favorite 6×6 paper pad – Pebbles Seen & Noted. It is incredible.

Today they announced on the Paper Crafts blog that I will be stepping down as a Go To Gal. Since becoming a Go To Gal, I have had two additions to our household (a baby and teen!)… causing me to cut back on work. Although it is sad to no longer be on the team, I made the decision because I know it is best for my family and best for Paper Crafts as they need someone who can give them their all. I very much enjoyed my time as a Go To Gal for one really big reason – the people. These gals there are passionate about bringing inspiration to paper crafters, and all have a heart of gold. I hope to still contribute when I can and will remain loyal to them as a magazine. I will also miss the other Go To Gals – their talent is amazing and their kindness is real. I am so thankful to have their friendship! (To everyone at PC – thank you for your kindness, understanding and support. Love you all.)

I thought I would share one of my favorite cards that I had published in Paper Crafts. Yep – you guessed it – it is bright and happy…

This card design is a great one for using up scraps. Easy peasy. Oh, and I inked the edges of the papers slightly, giving them each a defined edge. (This is a tip I shared on Day 1 of Pattern Play. I find it makes a big difference.)

I did these for the Paper Crafts Connections blog today. Simple and fun. Just stamped with black ink and colored heavily with colored pencils. Love the bold color on kraft paper. And I absolutely love these stamps from Tim Holtz. They rock.

By the way, the colored strips above and below the stamped piece – I covered them with Glossy Accents for shine. Just a fun and different touch.

I had such fun creating this set! I just painted some watercolor pieces (lots of fast scribbles with watercolor pencils followed by back and forth swipes with a wet brush) and die cut the flower from the center. I matted each piece on white, allowing it to show through. Easy!

Wonder what I did with those unused flowers? I made this quick card. The photo stinks – sorry…

This was a great way to make some fast cards to have on hand for friends.

By the way, did you see the background of the notecards above? It is THIS awesome background stamp. It does a great pattern of dots that varies from the top to bottom… giving the look of texture. Fun…

And HERE is the lovely Simon Says Stamp daisy die I used. You can use this die with any die cut machine. (Click HERE for sandwich recipes for each machine.) I really like the quality of these wafer thin dies.

Today I am part of a Go To Gals Product Challenge Blog Hop and we will all be using goodies from SRM Stickers.

Being a stamper, I rarely use stickers. The reason? I am not a fan of the halo they leave. But these clear and smooth SRM Stickers go on like butter and “disappear.” Just a good as stamps and so much easier. I am happy.

I was running low on time today so I made a card inspired by one I did awhile ago. Simple. And I added party hats to the stamped birds…

Used an awesome 6×6 paper from Lawn Fawn for the background. LOVE how subtle it is.

And aren’t the party hats fun? Goes well with that SRM greeting sticker.

I am feeling extra blessed this morning. Why? Because of this…

Yep, I am a new Contributing Editor for Paper Crafts magazine – a new Go To Gal.

In the fall, I retired from my role with Creating Keepsakes magazine. Many have asked why and it was really quite simple: I was tired and struggling with coming up with tags and scrapbook pages. I felt I wasn’t giving the CK team and the readers my best and that made me sad.

To be honest – my heart is in cardmaking and stamping.

But after retiring from CK, I was even more sad. I missed interacting with the CK team (they are gems) and the fun of magazine work. So I started to get involved with Paper Crafts magazine. This is the perfect fit for me: cardmaking + a sweet editoral team (they are as amazing as the CK girls) + a fresh start. Heaven.

The best part of it all? I am still working with Hero Arts (nothing changes there – not a chance!) and all my other ventures. This is just icing on the cake.

Feeling blessed today. Hoping the same for you all.
