Hi there. Today I have a fun video that shows how to create pop up images.

One great way to make a simple card even better is to literally POP an image off your card. My video above shows two ways to create a pop-up effect with Lawn Fawn Party Balloon die cuts. The first is to use Action Spring Wobblers. I love these guys! They are inexpensive, don’t add much bulk, and make the balloon jump and wiggle. However, if you don’t have the Wobblers, you can create your own. This second option involves adding small accordian-folded pieces of cardstock behind the die cut to force it to pop up. It works well!
By the way, I added shading to the balloons with two new colors of Distress Ink – Cracked Pistachio and Abandoned Coral. Oh my word, these colors are glorious. The quickest way to add shading and the look of dimension to die cuts is to add a bit of Distress Ink with an Ink Blending Tool. L.O.V.E.
I also added shiny die cut sentiments to each balloon. After inking black cardstock with VersaMark ink, I heat embossed it using clear embossing powder. This creates a shiny cardstock that is perfect for die cutting with word dies from Simon Says Stamp, Essentials by Ellen, and Little B.
I hope you give this fun technique a try. Such a great way to make your cards pop.
