Product & Card Close-Up: Concord & 9th

Hi, there! When I started playing with the newest Concord & 9th release, I knew I had to share it all in a video. Such an innovative bunch of products! And I have lots of examples to prove it.

By sharing a closer look at the products in this new Concord & 9th release (and card ideas!), I am hoping you feel inspired! In the video I show the products and a few ideas for each.

Most of my examples use the new Concord & 9th Dahlia Turnabout Stamp (C&9 | SSS). I just can’t get enough of it! You can stamp this image four times – each in a different color. Just rotate in between!

These cards feature sentiments from the Concord & 9th Beautiful Branches Stamps (C&9 | SSS) and a stitched square from Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Squares Dies. (All of my square cards are 5.5″ x 5.5″ and I use 6×6 White Square Envelopes.)

Also using the Concord & 9th Dahlia Turnabout Stamp (C&9 | SSS), I created a wreath by masking with a circle at the center. I added metallic red Nuvo Drops and a gold heat embossed sentiment from the Concord & 9th Magnolia Wreath Stamp Set (C&9 | SSS | EH).

You can also use the Concord & 9th Dahlia Turnabout Stamp (C&9 | SSS) along with the Dahlia Turnabout Die (C&9 | SSS). This is a fun way to create a peek-a-boo image. This first example shows three stamped rotations… and then the last set of petals were cut with the die. I added stacked “thanks” die cuts from the Concord & 9th Many Thanks Dies (C&9 | SSS | EH)…  covered with Tonic Crystal Glaze.

Here is another, but with a “hello” sentiment from the Concord & 9th Dahlia Turnabout Stamp Set (C&9 | SSS).

You can also use the Dahlia Turnabout Die (C&9 | SSS) to emboss a set of petals… and all you need is a Spellbinder Embossing Mat. The “celebrate” is from Concord & 9th All About You Dies (C&9 | SSS | EH).

To make a word die cut stand out against a busy background, I highly recommend stacking 3-4 die cuts and covering it with Tonic Crystal Glaze. It gives it dimension and shine.

Once you set up the Concord & 9th Dahlia Turnabout Stamp (C&9 | SSS), it is very easy and fast to use… so I decided to make several more! These next few feature colored cardstock with various subtle inks on top. This first one shows Hero Arts Unicorn White Ink (SSS | EH), VersaMark Ink (SSS | EH), Hero Arts White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder (SSS | EH), and Delicata White Shimmer Ink (SSS | EH).

You can use these white and tone-on-tone inks on any color of cardstock. A great way to use up scraps.

This next card features Hero Arts Unicorn White Ink (SSS | EH), VersaMark Ink (SSS | EH), Hero Arts White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder (SSS | EH), and Delicata Golden Glitz Ink (SSS | EH). “Hi there” is from the Concord & 9th Hi There Bear Stamps (C&9 | SSS), and the “sunshine” is from the Concord & 9th Dahlia Turnabout Stamp Set (C&9 | SSS).

You can also use the Concord & 9th Dahlia Turnabout Stamp (C&9 | SSS) off-center on cards.

I am really liking the shine of both Hero Arts White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder (SSS | EH), and Delicata White Shimmer Ink (SSS | EH).

My next card shows stamp images from two other new Concord & 9th stamp sets – the Bits and Pieces (C&9 | SSS) and Beautiful Branches (C&9 | SSS). I stamped all of the images with various Delicata inks… a pigment ink that gives a bit of shimmer. (I am really liking the Delicata Rose Gold Ink!) The die cut “hugs” is from the Concord & 9th Cuddles and Hugs Dies (C&9 | SSS | EH) and the “miss you” is from the Concord & 9th Hi There Bear Stamp Set (C&9 | SSS).

The Concord & 9th Bits and Pieces Stamp Set (C&9 | SSS) is so much to use to create backgrounds in any colors you want!

And last but not least… I created this happy card using the oh-so-cute Concord & 9th Hi There Bear Stamp Set (C&9 | SSS). This bear can be stamped so many different ways! I just went for quick and simple. For a bit of pink on his cheeks and ears, I used a Fantastix Inking Tool to apply Delicata Pink Shimmer Ink. Oh – and I used lots of Lucys Cards Rainbow Jewels!

This bear is so quick to stamp. I think I may make several of these bears but with a holiday theme. Perfect for teacher cards!

I hope these examples and a close look at this new release is helpful to you!

  1. You and Concord & 9th make the perfect creative team Jennifer. The fine folks at C&9 have continued to amaze me since they graced the crafty world with their presence with their fun and innovative stamps and dies. The cards you and Lila created are stunning and I’m over the moon for the Dahlia stamp and die set. Thank you so much for being such a wonderful and caring source of inspiration for so many of us. I hope you’re having a wonderful week! ~HUGS~

  2. Thanks for this great video! I just have to say that the bear reminds me so much of the ‘skin horse’ in the story about the rabbit that was thrown away and turned into a real rabbit. Forget the name. But the way you colored the stamp shows worn places in the bears fur and I just love the look. Maybe one day they will make a skin horse for us to use, also! Thanks again.

  3. I am in love with the Delilah Turnabout stamp because you can do so much with it. Those are the kind of stamps I want to get when I get stamps. The kind that I can use forever and when I do, I do something different with the same stamp. That way I get so much more use out of the stamps and nobody gets the same card ever! That’s what I wish more stamp companies would do, invent one stamp that can be made a bunch of different ways so we get a lot more out of that one stamp.
I love The Bits and Pieces stamp set and that bear is way to cute!
Thank you for showing us your pretty cards. I love them all!

  4. Wow is all I can say! I love the Dahlia set – thank you for teaching how to use it! Your color combos are perfect and now I have a new stamp company to follow!

  5. WOW! You Rock Girl! Stunning, Steller Inspiring, Creative, Colorful Works of Art! You Really Knocked It Out Of The Park with this Concord & 9th Release! Love the Dahlia Turnabout Stamp and Die and Beautiful Branches Bundle and Hi There Bear Bundle! Light Bulbs went off in my head when I saw you creating with the Dahlia Turnabout Die! Use NUVO Mousse with Dahlia Turnabout Die Cut inlay technique in lieu of various color ink pads…will give it a go with Delicata Shimmer Inks…they ARE Pretty… subtle shimmer, sparkle, rich, elegant …

  6. Jennifer!!!! I am going to go to my grave completely broke I can see it! Hopefully not anytime soon, but really!! And I can see my hubby rolling his eyes as I update my cart at SSS 😂😂😂
Those dahlia cards are just amazing. So so beautiful. Love the die that cuts the sections out and it’s beautiful when used to emboss too. So much happy in this video! Loved your examples… and Black Friday is coming although I have a feeling this will go out of stock very quickly…. Thank you so much for the fantastic video, I always really love what they release! Lisa x

  7. Wow!! Absolutely Stunningly gorgeous cards!!! This turn-a-bout Dahlia stamp and die set is Aa-MAZ-ing and you showed us some of the endless possibilities of it. I love them all!! The Bits and Pieces and the Beautiful Branches sets look pretty awesome too but this Dahlia set goes to the TOP of my wishlist!! And that little bear, o my goodness!! I’m not big into cutesy images but this little guy steals my heart. Maybe it’s the worn spots that get me. I don’t know. He’s just adorable!!

  8. You’re a wiz, Jennifer! 🙂 A huge thank you for showing your beautiful cards and how to use the versatile turnabout stamp and co-ordinating die! Have a wonderful weekend!

  9. All I can say is, Wow, Jennifer (and daughter!) I, too, am a huge fan of Concord & 9th products and this release is phenomenal! Your cards are stunning and I so appreciate all the examples you provided. To be honest, I probably would have shied away from turn-about Dahlia stamp, however, after watching your tutorial (actually watched it twice before ordering the stamp and die) I actually found myself imagining all sorts of applications. Then there was this little bear…who tugged at my heart strings even though that type of image is not really my cup of tea…and suddenly my entire craft budget was blown to…..well, you know….! Jennifer, your videos always make me smile and keep me focused on making my card making skills better. Thank you.

  10. O WOW so many awesome products and you do the justice I should say. Thanks so much for sharing and I love love love that beart.

  11. Wow, the turnabout stamps always get me excited. Great cards and good ideas, thanks! And you made me smile when you said you could not find the Sharpie. I bet I’m not the only crafter watching your videos and thinking that with your kind of organization we would never loose anything again, LOL! Hope it turns up.

  12. These are all fabulous cards Jennifer and the Delia Turnabout stamp/die is simply beautiful. Thanks for sharing how to use it. Very clear and can instructions.

  13. Lila, I love your cards & color combos! Jennifer, I’ve been very tempted in the past to get the turn about stamps based on your videos, but I just never did get one. NOW, I have to have this Dahlia Turnabout stamp & die! There are so many possibilities. Since it’s so close to Thanksgiving, I’ve got turkeys on my mind. I can see stamping the dahlia in shades of brown, cutting it in half & popping the front of a turkey die that I already have in the front so the dahlia turns into turkey leaves. I can also see embossing the entire dahlia, or cutting out the entire thing with the die. I’ve got tons of ideas, so excuse me for now while I go over to Concord & 9th to buy them!

  14. I’m glad you explained how those stamps work, because they just look confusing to me. I like the dahlia turnabout, glad you did so many examples with it. I’m also happy to see some square card designs, I quite like them. Thanks for sharing.

  15. Your cards are beautiful. You are so good that you seem to change my mind about a lot of different stamp set. The bear was so so on my list till I saw your card. The dahlia I really liked and now love after your video. Thank you so much for sharing. Happy Thanksgiving.

  16. Well, you should be part of C&9–haha! I can barely keep from buying everything you show, Jennifer & today is no exception! I totally love how you made a wreath with the Dahlia & that is pushing me over the top to get that stamp! All your cards are wonderfully inspiring–so creative & beautiful!

  17. Oh so awesome Jennifer, I love the turnabout stamps but this one I is my favorite from now on! So great and much more versatile because the stamp is smaller than the background stamps. And also a matching die, that’s incredibble, what a great thinking of the Concord & 9th Designers. Thanks to you and Lila for all the grogeous cards with these great products.

  18. Hello Jennifer:). I hope you have a place you go on the internet that always, without fail, brightens your day a little or a lot, depending on the day!! For me, that site is yours and I truly, truly am grateful. The cards you (and Lila)made are gorgeous. I can tell Lila has the creative bug just like her momma. Kudos to you for encouraging her and letting her play with all your cool supplies. I’m sure Audrey loved her card ’cause the love just radiates from it!
I’ve been mulling the dahlia bundle since the release. Today, I was sold:). Thanks for continuous inspiration and all you do.
    Hugs,
    Allison

  19. What a beautiful assortment!
A question: what is the white embossing powder you used for the sentiment on the “Hi there, Sunshine” and “Thinking of You” dahlia cards; I don’t think it’s the white pearl embossing powder you referenced.

  20. WOW ! I agree with you, Concord has really fantastic stamps and dies. And if in addition we have your video for the explanation, everything is perfect ….. !
Your cards are gorgeous, the choice of the colors is perfect. And your little bear is really cute. This stamps set will definitively be on my wish list as well as the Dahlia turnabout stamps and die sets.

  21. You are so gifted. Creative, a great teacher and so generous in sharing your talent with all of us. Thank you so very much.

  22. The innovation at Concord and 9th is incredible. I’m always so amazed at their unique and beautiful products. Thanks for the video, Jennifer! It was fun and helpful to see in detail how you used their products to make your cards.

  23. Thanks for another great video with tons of inspiration. I have yet to get one of these “turn” type stamps, you make it look easy and I do have a Misti. This new stamp by Concord and 9th is gorgeous! You and Lila have done a marvelous job with this stamp set.

  24. OK that Dahlia turnabout stamp and die set is seriously gorgeous and a must have for me!! I never would have thought to use it the way you did, though! TFS!!

  25. I just love your videos, so informative and so creative. Thank you for sharing your talent and giving me inspiration!
You show me so many new ideas even just by using a stamp in a different way. I am constantly watching in awe and and saying out loud, “How Clever ” or “what a great idea.”
    ~Gin K.~

  26. I had to watch this video again! I just love it so much!! I just ordered the Dahlia stamp set(not the die) I can NOT wait to get it! This will be my first time using a turn a bout. I hope I can make that guide 😉 Thank u soooooo much for all your inspiration . I’m so excited
