Video: Pigment Ink Multi-Inking (with Avery Elle)

Hello!

As promised, I have a video showing the new Avery Elle pigment inks… and a fun and easy multi-inking technique that works well with pigment inks

I am so loving that many companies are coming out with inks. The more the merrier, as many offer different ink types and colors. Put them all together and you have all the options you need to be a happy stamper! The new Avery Elle pigment inks are simply delicious. I will admit that I was a bit unsure at first. But once I tried them I was SOLD. I love them. (A pigment ink has to be really good for me to like it. My other favorites are Mama Elephant and Memento Luxe. The ink consistency of the AE is similar to the ME inks. You can see a video with more on pigment inks HERE and HERE.)

For this card, I took advantage of the fact that pigment inks are slower to dry. That way I could slowly ink the stamp in little areas here and there with an sponge dauber to get layered color. This Avery Elle ink works perfectly for it! Isn’t the Thanks a Bunch floral stamp set fantastic? I also love the greeting from the Needle Little Love set. (Check it out in the thumbnails below – it is fab.)

I also added a few touches of dimension and shine. First, I stamped and clear embossed the Impression Obsession Beauty Text stamp on the background. Next, I added a few spots of Glossy Accents here and there and sprinkled on tiny bits of Glitter Ritz glitter for a touch of bling. Very subtle. Very effective.

All the supplies I used on this card are linked at the bottom of this post. Here are all 15 pigment ink colors (and reinkers) Avery Elle has to offer: (Click to see more.)

I would love to hear if you are fan of pigment inks. My love for them is growing big time!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great one!

(By the way – as always – I was not asked to promote these inks. I did so because I really think they are excellent quality.)

  3. Amy

I never think to use pigment inks, except for embossing. Great easily understood video!

  4. So pretty. I can’t believe I’ve never thought to use a finger dauber to apply ink to a stamp. Genius. And I do also love to work with pigment inks. they give such a deep color.

  5. I’ve always loved the pigment inks, especially for embossing with clear powder. I would much rather use a colored ink, instead of colored powders. Mainly, because I know the color will be exactly what the ink color is. I’m looking forward to trying those inks, thanks for the demo.

  6. Laurie

Not using pigment inks much anymore. But you make me want to try it again!

  7. I don’t use pigment inks very much because I don’t feel as confident stamping with them, but you definitely make me want to try more.

  8. Can’t wait to see your method of organizing and swatching your inks! You always have such good suggestions.

I do most of my stamping with pigment inks. I really never layered them like you have shown but I’ll have to give it a try now. I love the look of your card.

There are so many different inks coming out on the market (momento, hero arts, mama elephant and not Avery Elle) I’m begining to get confused as to how different the colours are from eachother. I love them all.

I am definitely a fan of pigment inks but am also not a very experienced stamper. I love the look of embossing & it’s easier to do that with pigment inks. Also, I really like the deep, rich, more opaque image they yield.

  22. Margarita Navarro-Rivera

    Love the pigment inks!

  23. Ivonne Romero

Excellent, you explained all my questions and more. God bless you.
