Distress Marker Video + Giveaway

So, I have been waiting for a long time (just like I have been to give birth – ha) to share a video on Distress Markers.

In fact, I did this video almost two months ago! But I didn’t want to share any love for this product until they were back in stock at stores. There was a storage on them for awhile, but now you can get your paws on them again. :)

I am thrilled to be able to play with them all I want now! Here is a video showing one of the many ways you can use them – to create a fun background with the Hero Arts and Studio Calico Lattice background…

I love that you can get little spots of color with the marker tip, and then can spray them like mad to get blending like watercolor…

When I showed this card to Tim awhile back, he asked me how long it took to color all those shapes. Honestly? 5 or so minutes. And that is nothing compared to what I normally spend on a card – ha. (I am slow.) So I think it is worth it.

Here you can see the pearlized look you get since I used water with Perfect Pearls mixed in. (If you don’t want that shine, you can just use regular water. Both are lovely.)

So many people have asked me if I really love these markers. The answer is yes. They take all the things I love about Distress Inks and puts them in a marker form – so I can get detailed spots of color. What could be better? And this background is just one of many ways to use them. (The best of which is for multi-color stamping – more on that another day.)

You can get the Distress Markers individually (get the colors you like best and just try them out) or go ahead and take the plunge to get the whole set…

I love new toys. :) Almost as I love giving them away…

    I need to figure out a way to make more than 24 hours in a day so I can play with my distress inks and still have time to play with the markers. What fun they’re going to be!

    Wow ! Awesome tutorial as always Jennifer! I can’t decide if I like the bright coloured or the Perfect pearls card more! Such a lovely effect…looks like it took hours to do! Thanks for the opportunity to win such a great product!

    I thought I had everything I need, Jennifer…but clearly I don’t! Distress markers and enamel accents are definitely on my must have list. What a wonderful way to use background stamps and markers.

    Amazing, Crative and Inspireing. So simple and easy to do but still looks like a major project.
    Love the versatile use of the Distress Markers. I had a set for my birthday and would love to give a set to my best friend who introduced me to scrapbooking :)

    I love how you used the distress markers on this card. In the video you siad you would do more on the picket fence marker. I’ve been looking for it but haven’t come across it. Is it something you haven’t done yet? Can you direct me where to look if you’ve done it already. Thanks for all the great inspiration. Jackie

    love this. I just tried it for my first online card class but without the markers just using reinkers and distress pads and aquapen. would have been less messy with markers. Loved the little hearts too.

    Beautiful card! I love how you mixed the perfect pearls with the water to mist the one card. It is so pretty! I would love to win a set of distress markers too!

    I would be over the moon to win these markers. I didn’t think i “NEEDED” them; afterall how many marker sets does one need. But I bought i few and really liked them. Seeing this video convinced me. So, as Tim would say, I am sending out good “jzshujzsh” (sp??) to everyone.

    It would be great to win a complete set of markers! I knew when I first heard about them that they would be a necessity. The card is fantastic and the video makes it do-able because it LOOKED like it would take all day to color those shapes.

    I love the creativity of this card especially used with distress markers, I can’t wait to try this for myself but first I must have the set of markers!!! lol!!! So I need those markers…in the meantime I will try with what distress inks I have. You are such an inspiration to me Jennifer (my daughter’s name as well). I have learned a great deal from you especially in card making and scrapbooking. I am currently doing journaling and this is awesome!!!! thanks so much!!!!

    LOVE the card! I’ve been wanting the markers, I’ve got all the pads and most of the re-inkers, I’d be lost without my distress ink! But I’ve never had to much luck with markers, so I’ve been holding off. Think you may have sold me. But my wallet would like it even better if I won ‘em!     I have been trying out different (not so pricey) markers to see if I could find something comparable to Copics. Looks like I will have to try Distress Markers!

    Jennifer, you make it all look so easy! I love watching your videos and share your enthusiasm with a lot of the products you demonstrate. But, I wonder, could one ever have too many products to play with? I think not, and would enjoy trying out Tim Holtz’s Distress Markers to see if they are as much fun as his Distress Inks!
