Scrapbook Workshop Giveaway

Hello!

I wanted to give a shout out to May Flaum for her new book – Scrapbook Workshop. This book is so very clever in comparison to many out there. It is filled with the work of many bloggers that you all likely know and love and shares more of how they do cool techniques. Such a great idea.

And as much as you see work online, there is nothing like seeing it in print. Especially big, clear step photos. Awesome.

So I talked to May and that kind gal sent me a copy to give to a lucky winner! Just let a comment here by Wednesday night for your chance to win.

(Nope – wasn’t paid to post about this. Just liked it. :) )

See you soon! I am still recovering from Inspiration Showcase, but I will be back to normal blogging soon. Oh, and if you were part of that class, be sure to check out today’s email. There is info on how to sign up for our next online class at a discounted rate.

Hero Arts + Sizzix is here!

ada

I am so very excited that the new Hero Arts and Sizzix die+stamp and embossing folder+stamp combos are now in stock HERE!

Here is a video of them in action. They simply rock.

And here is a tiny peek at one of the die cut pieces. (Can’t show more of this card as it is from my Inspiration Showcase class.)

And here is a super quick card I did awhile back. The background is white heat embossed then dry embossed with the matching folder. The trees were cut with a die, too.

You can see the dry embossing here…

These products are so easy to use and are reasonably priced. You can use them with all die cut machines. To see them all, click HERE. Here are my favorite embossing folder + stamp combos: The ferns, the holly and the flowers

And my favorite stamp + die combos: The flower and butterfly, the flowers and the leaves

Love ‘em.

Just a reminder about The Spawn of True Scrap. This will be great – 17 teachers in one weekend. I will have a 45 minute video to share – all new stuff. Here is a peek at my projects…

Studio Calico Card + Giveaway…

Hello! Sorry for the long blog break. Between being ill, a busy trip to Scrapfest and a scary experience for my husband (he was just yards away from the crash at the Reno Airshow – in the debris field – and miraculously and thankfully is ok), I haven’t had a free moment. But I am back!

I have had several people email me asking me about the card that is on the Studio Calico blinkie on my sidebar. So I thought I would share it here with all the info. Oh, and do a giveaway. :)

By the way – all the new Studio Calico products are available HERE at Simon Says Stamp and HERE at 2Peas. (If you are in my class, remember to use your student discount at SSS! And also check 2Peas as they have individual papers, etc.)

I love their chipboard butterflies… and I love covering them with their paper even more…

These lines of papers are versatile because they are soft and neutral, with a bit of color. And guess what? They have 6×6 pads. Oh, yes. Love me some 6×6. (Click on the images to see more.)

And I use the awesome letter background stamp

You can find the complete list of supplies at the bottom of this post – just click the thumbnail images.

How about a giveaway? Just leave a comment here by Friday night for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Studio Calico! Good luck!

Just a heads up – the sweet folks over at Ellen Hutson have a big sale going on – 20% off all Tim Holtz products! Oh my – I have some serious shopping to do. Click HERE to see the deals and use the code “WendyTim” when checking out.

See you soon.

Taking a little…

… blog break. Will try to pop in again soon. Take care!

Advice for mommas of young ones…

If you are the momma of a quiet little guy who you are afraid will be nervous to get on the bus for the first day of Kindergarten, here is a bit of advice.

Print a bunch of your favorite family photos.
Laminate them.
Punch holes in the corner.
Put them on a key ring.
Attach them to the built-in key strap in your son’s backpack.

Then tell him that once he is on the bus, he can look in his backpack for the first time to see what fun pictures were included…

Next, you will watch him get on the bus – all excited. And as you stand there in complete shock, you will see him wave from his seat… and then open his backpack to see the photos inside.

And then, in that moment, you will feel like a really good momma.

Who would have guessed it was that easy?

Answered prayers.

(Oh, and he still LOVES the bus and school. Yay! And the Luigi patch? I have etsy.com to thank for that one.)

Be sure to check out Simon Says Stamp’s STAMPtember.

There are great sales going on – something new every day! You can follow along HERE on their blog.

See you soon.

Basic Grey

Hello there.

I was honored to be featured on the new BasicGrey blog earlier this week. (And so happy they have a blog now!) I did three cards for them using the Hero Arts + BasicGrey stamps. For complete and detailed instructions, go HERE.

First up is one that has me looking forward to the holidays…

Of course, lots of Perfect Pearl + water on Distress Inks for the flower. And I love the look for Hero Arts Mixed Accents (matching pearls and gems) piled together…

Next up is another Distress Ink and Perfect Pearls + water mix using my favorite new flower stamps. Adore it…

Shine, shine, shine…

By the way, the BEST BEST BEST watercolor paper is now available HERE. This is my favorite – I use it for everything.

And the last one, which looks a whole heck of a lot better in real life. The photo just killed it…

That’s an acetate window there…

Ahhh… I love me some BasicGrey. And I love the people who work there… Kelly Goree, Kristina Werner and now Melanie Bauer. Such a great group.

Off to work on stuff for Inspiration Showcase! See you soon.

We have a few giveaway winners. The winner of the True Scrap class spot is Janet (tomjan)and the winner of the Simon Says Stamp gift certificate is Tere. I emailed you both.
