Lily Pad Cards

Hey there.

I was happy to be a guest over on the new Lily Pad Cards blog today. These folks are so amazingly kind – be sure to check out their site HERE. (And thank you, Lily Pad, for the kind words you wrote about me!)

For my post, I did a set of 5 cards – all using a different type of resist. Here are the projects, but be sure to go HERE for more details and information. You can also see links to supplies below.

This card features traditional resist: Versamark on glossy paper with ink rubbed over…

This next guy is paint resist: Stamp with paint on cardstock and rub ink over. Ugly in the photo but pretty in real life…

This one is kissed resist: Kiss a Versamarked stamp with another inked stamp on glossy paper and rub ink over…

Next we have patterned paper resist: Clear emboss an image on patterned paper and rub ink over…

And finally we have kraft resist: Clear emboss an image on kraft paper and rub over with white pigment ink…

Again, be sure to head over to Lily Pad Cards to see all the details on these cards.

By the way, for traditional resist, you need glossy paper. The best glossy paper by far is from Ranger. You can find it HERE. Just stamp on it with Versamark, heatset it with a heatgun (or let dry for a long time) and then rub pretty much any ink over it for resist. (I like to use Distress Ink, chalk ink or any dye ink.)

See you soon!

ATC + Tags

Before I share some projects, I thought I would give you a heads up that registration for Summer Card Camp closes on Wednesday (6/29). We are already having a lot of fun and sharing fun tips, so be sure to go sign up! The student gallery is overflowing (over 200 entries already on Day 2!) and looks incredible. You can see a glimpse of it HERE.

Moving on… :)

I thought I would share a couple projects I did for Ranger awhile back.

This one uses a Ranger Glossy ATC. ATCs are perfect to put on the front of a small card. I stamped on this glossy ATC with a fabulous Tim Holtz stamp and Versmark ink. After heat setting it, I generously added Peeled Paint Distress Ink. Resist rocks. The hearts started out as white patterned paper from Basic Grey, but I inked them with Distress Inks to get purple…

HERE is the Tim Holtz stamp. Isn’t is lovely? I used it once right-side-up and another up-side-down…

This next one uses Ranger tags. They are so perfect for inking! I started by covering it with Barn Door Distress Ink and spraying it with Perfect Pearl Mist. After it dried, I stamped and Copic colored on vintage text paper and added it with sewing. Finally, I used a bit of glitter pen to add some sparkle…

Off to rest. Night!

THIS guy is my new favorite favorite favorite stamp. You will be seeing me use it a lot. It has a permanent spot on my desk within quick reach. Love the thin lines of it…

In fact, here is a peek at a card from Summer Card Camp using this stamp…

HERE is another that I will be using a lot. Can you say Copic coloring?

THIS Lotus Background will be fun to use. Could work with many styles of cards…

And the big butterfly in THIS set? In love…

Ah… and THIS set will be fun for inking techniques…

I love new stamps. Enjoy. :)

(Oh, and the winner of the class spot is Mayumi. I emailed you.)

Hello, everyone!

I am home from vacation. I miss being on a beach all by ourselves, something that is common in the British Virgin Islands. Here is one morning – no one there but our family. (This is on Virgin Gorda. And the dark spots in the water? That is gorgeous reef that looks just like Nemo’s world.)

And, boy, do I have a lot to catch up on this week! I am starting to go through emails now. I will be back soon with all the winners from recent giveaways. See you soon…
