Day 3 of Challenge with Darling Dawn

Thanks for coming back for Day 3 of my challenge with the darling Dawn McVey.

Today we are both using the Hero Arts Blossom Art and the Papertrey Ink Polka Dots II with the color turquoise. (Turquoise is my favorite color to craft with.)

I will totally admit – I struggled with this. Not sure why – I love the stamps and the colors. I think I was expecting it to come together quickly, so when it wasn’t, I got frustrated. It happens, right?

It is hard to see but there is a MFT die-cut window opening with a dark stamped panel inside. Love window cards – Hallmark doesn’t do that. :)

I white heat embossed the flower on white cardstock. And to make it match the background stamping perfectly, I rubbed the same Soft Pool Ink over the flower to color… and added shading to the middle with Broken China Distress Ink. The tiny dots and the dots inside are from the Papertrey Ink set.

Now be sure to head over to Dawn’s darling blog to see her creation with the same stamps and color. Love you, Dawn.

My friends over at Lawn Fawn are having a fun week to celebrate new stamps that will be released Wednesday night. Be sure to watch their blog HERE to be a part of the fun, giveaways and more. And, guess what? You can buy these new stamps already HERE. Check out this fun peek…

Oh, and I am the blogger over on the Hero Arts blog this week. Be sure to come play. :)

See you tomorrow.

What a fabulous card, Jennifer … pure perfection, an absolute beauty … I can’t believe you struggled with it!!! The cut-out and sprinkling of pearls are gorgeous … and your Hallmark comment is very amusing :) I’d love to know more about your big dots on the front of the card. This challenge you have running with sweet Dawn is inspired … Thank You!!

It doesn’t look like you struggled. Very pretty card. I LOVE the asymmetry of the pearl placement. I love that look but I struggle with that. I always need things balanced!

Hmmmmm! I recognize that window! Love this look so much. I am having so much fun seeing which way you and Dawn are taking the day’s inspiration! And I had to laugh when I saw Susan’s note! I always admire how you place the pearls and gems on your cards…and wonder, how did she know to place them.right.there.

I never would have guessed you struggled, but I’m happy to hear I’m not the only one who does… I love how you did the fun cutout with the banner across it! The way you did the resist with the stamps was also great–I don’t know why, but I often forget about this technique.
