Spice up those packages… Video!

Hello!

I have a fun video for you all today from the Hero Arts Blog. It shows how to create unique “bows” for your holiday packages. This is what I was going to do for teacher gifts – give a set of these in different styles along with wrapping paper. Never got to do it – boo – but I will next year.

The video above shows how to create these rosettes from scratch. However, I highlllllllly recommend instead getting the Tim Holtz Rosette die cut. It cuts strips perfectly with scalloped edges and perforations for folding. I LOVE this die. It is out of stock everywhere, but will be back soon.

Here is a piece I created using the die. It is from a class – I cut 100 of these in no time flat…

I hope everyone is having some time off with family. We are so happy to have the three kiddos together and laughing. So much giggling going on here. Here is a shot from the pool today…

Colin and Audrey went flying in the 1948 Luscombe 8F his Granddad (Ken’s dad) built. They love it. Kay? Too wimpy to go – ha. That’s Audrey in there…

    Puzzles are NOT nerdy! I love them, and I am definitely not a nerd! Ha! :) Love the video! So nice of you to take the time to show us this fun way to jazz up our gifts!     What a beautiful idea! I’ve always been big into gift-wrapping. These are sturdy enough I bet you could save and re-use them. Thanks for the lesson!

    who wouldn’t love to get that on top of a present. puzzles are a great way to bring people together. we do that at my in laws. play games too. have a family filled holiday.

    Awesome packaging!

    Were nerds too…we got our DD’s the WII you draw and we wanted to open it up 2 weeks ago to play pictionary while the kids were in bed! LOL

    Thank you for the great video! I am glad to hear that the die will be back in stock soon! I have looked everywhere for it! The “nerds” at our house play Bananagrams – a Scrabble like game without the board! Your older ones might like it. My kids play all the time!

    TFS. I love this idea and it can also be used as an ornament after the gift has been opened. I just finished making my tags and this will add that little extra pop on the presents this year.

    I loved the bow & I have the Tim Holtz cutter so now I HAVE to try this….lol. How would you make the smaller circles using the die cutter? Just cut the paper thinner by say a quarter inch?

    I bought myself, I mean Santa bought me a Fiskars Stamp press. I have yet to try it out. Weird but I can’t get to my scrapbook room until my house is clean. I would love to have some new stamps to get me motived to try out the tool you encouraged Santa to buy for me.
