A cooking challenge

Hi!

It's day 2 of my fun little challenge with the amazingly-talented Joy Taylor. Today, we will both be using the Hero Arts What's Cooking set.

I kept it pretty simple by stamping the apron on Basic Grey paper and adding shading with Copics. I then went a little nuts and decided to braid string to make the apron strings. (Ha.) I used white string and then colored the braids with Copics to match the paper. Fun and easy… does it get any better?

Supplies: Hero Arts stamps (apron + greeting, definition, dots); Distress Inks; Tim Holtz edge distresser; Glossy Accents (on the hearts); Basic Grey paper; string; Copics.

Here is the set we used…

I also wanted to show THIS Basic Grey 6×6 pad that I like so much – the one I used for the apron. It is great for cards because the colors are soft and they are small scale prints. Perfect…

This friendly little contest has been fun to watch. You’re both giving some new ideas and approaches to using the stamp products, but I have to say that your techniques sure do set you apart, Jennifer. Wish I could manage to take a class from you. That would ROCK!
