Happy Memorial Day

Hope you had a great day.  We went to our local parade – it is big, fun and my favorite.  Big hugs and prayers go out to all the military folks out there, and their loved ones.  I admire and appreciate you all.

I have a bundle of stamped cards to share today.  I created these using a bunch of extra kits I had leftover from a class.  So you will notice that they all have the same background and cut. :)

The cards use Hero Arts stamps and notecards… along with stamps from Stamping Bella.  Shari and I met Emily of Stamping Bella at a rep show a few months ago.  She is a doll, and her stamps are such fun.  Irresistible!  So, here are my simple Hero Arts and Stamping Bella creations…  (Forgive the photos -  they are not the best.)

052409 Bella

052409 Bella 4

052409 Bella 6

052409 Bella 2

052409 Bella 3

052409 Bella 1

052409 Bella 5Supplies: Hero Arts stamps (background, greetings, greetings, greetings), Stamping Bella (all other images), Soft Leaf Shadow Ink, White Inkessentials Pen, Black Memories Ink, Copic Glitter Pens, colored pencils, Gamsol, various Hero Arts gems, Hero Arts notecards, Bo Bunny dotted paper, EK Success corner rounder

A few notes on these. :) On all of the backgrounds, I added little white dots (with the fab Ranger Inkessentials Pen) to the pattern of the Hero Arts stamp.  I love how this brings it alive.  I also used the Copic glitter pens on the images to make them pop.

Oh, and this is the class card that I had the kits leftover from…

042109 Class 7

By the way, many of the greetings I used on these are from THIS set.  I love it.  Take a close look – lots of good messages there…

I really like using different stamp companies together.  What are your faves to use in combo?

OK, the Bachelorette.  Wes?  What is with that hair?  Yikes.  But I like Jillian.  She is who she is and has fun.  She reminds me of one of my favorite friends, Courtney – always the one to make you smile.  What do you think of it?  (Please tell me I am not the only mindless person watching it…)

Night.

I’ve got to watch this show. I’m so dissapointed I missed the first episode. Jillian is actually from a small town near my home town, so that makes it even funner to watch, even though I’ve never met her.

Gorgeous cards – such a welcome burst of colour on a dreary Tuesday afternoon down here in NZ. I don’t have many non-Hero Arts stamps, but I am slowly building a collection of PaperTreyInk stamps. They have lots of great background design images (e.g. Polka Dot Basics & Damask Designs) that work well with sentiments & focal images from my other stamp sets. Can’t comment on the Bachelorette – it’s one of the few American Reality TV shows we don’t get down here!

Ooooh! I missed the Bachelorette tonight! I got mixed up with the day off! Great cards! I love when you post more than one! =D I have a question about something you wrote on the Hero Blog. You said not to use glitter on the Cards for Heroes cards. May I ask why? Just curious. You can email me if you don’t want to include it in a post.

I don’t care for Wes at all! I like Jake, and I like Ed, who I think will win in the end. It’s all about the editing and I don’t think they are going to show too much about the “one” too early. But David…ugg, has to go!!!! Agree? Disagree?

So cool what you did with these cards and stamps. I really love the background stamp too.

Sounds like you had a great time at the parade. I bet Colin loved it too.

I like using Hero Arts and Fiskars stamps together.

    Thanks

Love the cards – green is a great color! Quick question – which hero arts set contains the saying “sending you sunshine and laughter”? I have checked Stamp Your Art Out and Archivers and can’t find it in either store.
As for the Bachelorette – I wasn’t going to watch but then of course I did… What’s up with keeping the foot fetish guy… I like Jake the pilot – seems like a good guy.

  25. Posted May 26, 2009 at 9:00 pm | Permalink

okay so I havent watched the show in years BUT i am hooked on this one. Wes, David, Jaun and Footfetish Tanner all need to be gone don’t you think? I am giving birth (c-section) next Monday and I’m slightly sad to miss an episode. I will be reling on your blog for an update ;)

You are so not the only mindless person watching, it’s a must! I do like Jillian and I’m in love with Jake the pilot (but won’t tell boyfriend) David has quite the potty mouth, he must go! Can’t wait to see which guys have girlfriends.

They are some super yummy cards, love the bright cheerful colors(my weakness…). I just made some Cards For Heros with Hero Arts + Stampin’ Up and Hero Arts + CTMH. Basically as long as the combination of stamps conveys the theme that I am trying to make goes. Really love the cute Bella stamps that you used!!

You’re using my favorite HA background on all of these cards! Love them all! I really like Papertrey Ink together with Hero stamps. Great combination!

You are not alone! My daughter and I are rooting for Jake the pilot. He and Jillian make a yummy couple! Besides having bad hair, Wes seems to be self absorbed with his music and we were upset that he got a rose! Okay, ’nuff said….

When do you know you are addicted to JenniferMcGuireInk blog??
Well, when you spend 2 straight nights dreaming of us hanging out in my scraproom. Yep, we’ve done layouts and then last night we did lots of embossing and we made a huge mess. Oh and I introduced you to all my family & friends and my son was there too playing with Colin who all of a sudden appeared out of nowhere (yes, you flew alone or so we thought).
I really need to take a break from your blog. NOT!

    Love these cards!

I think Wes is creepy! He is dominating and needs to go. I don’t know who she should pick yet, but def not Tanner P. either with his weird foot fetish! Gross!

  33. Posted May 27, 2009 at 9:05 pm | Permalink

I’m watching this season, too. I’m not liking Wes at all. I think I need another episode or two to figure out who I’m leaning towards. nobody is really jumping out at me as “the one” yet.

Love those cards. I just ordered that dots and flowers design block!

Your work is so inspiring! Thank you for sharing!

I’ve noticed you’ve used that background stamp quite a bit and I REALLY like it! Unfortunately I don’t see it in any of the stores I shop. I noticed the website says limited availability…any reason why this is? If they put that stamp out in a clear stamp, I’d be in stamping HEAVEN!

I watch the Bachelorette, and I agree that Wes is a little odd. David is just mean and what’s with the foot guy? My early favorite is Jake, liked him the first night when he got out of the limo!
I love your cards, you are a favorite source of inspiration for me!
