I love Saturdays

Saturdays are the best, aren't they?  Colin gets up every Saturday and says, "Is it a school day?"  When we says no, he immediately asks Ken, "Do you have to go to work, Daddy?"  When he says no, Colin gets a huge smile.  And so do I.

Didn't do much today – still recovering.  But I thought I would pop on to share a few things.

One thing – if you plan on sending any pages to me to be shipped overseas to our Aussie friends (see the post HERE for more info), please send me an email.  I want to make sure I have them all before packing up and shipping.  Thanks!

Time to share.  This one was for the fun challenge over on 2peas.  The challenge is to create a page inspired by a card.  But I decided to do the opposite. It is inspired by THIS amazing page by Robyn Werlich.  (Notice the folded corner on the card?  Roxie decided to step on it.  Nice. :)

022709 Special HeartsSupplies:
Hero Arts notecards, stamp and embossing powder
Lots of patterned papers (from top to bottom: Autumn Leaves, Basic Grey, Cosmo Cricket twice, Anna Griffin, KI Memories)
Fiskars Heart Punch
Sewing machine – man I love that thing

Be sure to come back tomorrow – I have something I could use help with – help from you all. :)

OK… I'm off for the night.  Anyone else going to watch the Celebrity Apprentice tomorrow night?  The cast seems good – I may try it out.  Night!

Quick – TWO fun giveaways!

I have two great giveaways to let you know about.  I will come back later to share some more.  But wanted to mention these before time was up. :)

1. Go over and leave a comment HERE on the Hero Arts Blog and you could win a great prize.  And the special guest on the blog today is Deborah Nolan – her cards are SO creative!

2. Sweet Jana is giving away a great Hero Arts stamp set on her blog HERE.

More later. :)

I’m back…

…and I sure missed posting!  That was just awful – I have never been that sick.  I am still not 100%, but I am getting there.  The whole time I was sick and stuck on this couch, I thought about the Octomom.  What if I had 14 kids?  How could I be sick with 14 kids?  But then I would remind myself that I couldn't take care of 14 kids even if I was healthy.  Ha.  :)

Just a quick share tonight.  I have gotten a lot of emails about this page, so I thought I would post it.  I remember doing this layout and how happy I was to be scrapping these pictures.  I just adore them.  The fabulous Jamie Waters took them, which makes them even more special.  I just love my Jamie and Shari. :)

It feels good to know that I have some great friends out there, even if they are miles away. :)

Hope you all have a good night.  I am off to enjoy some mindless TV – The Millionaire Matchmaker.  Gotta love it.

quick quick quick…

To sick to post here – but I wanted to give this heads up:

Nichol is having an AMAZING giveaway on her blog HERE.  Go look!

More later.  Thanks for the kind emails.  Although I feel terrible, I will be just fine – no worries. :)

Since I am here sick and Ken stayed home from work, I thought I would post again.

So, thanks for the comments on Facebook.  Here is the thing: I don't have a huge desire to find people from my past.  That sounds bad, but I am just happier with who I am now then I was in the past.  past.  So, I would just do it to keep in touch with mostly my sister-in-law's family in Africa.  Maybe I will try it.  Hmmm.  Also, I can share photos with people that I don't want to publically share.  Not sure.  Hmmm.

OK, since you were all helpful with that… :) … can I ask another question?  What do you do with puzzles for the kids?  Colin is addicted, but we lose pieces a lot.  Have any tips to keeping the pieces together?  Smooch.

I have a couple of cards to share.

First, a Papertrey Ink card I made back in December in a crop.  I just adore these stars, alphabet and boat. :)   This was for my husband.  I tell him a lot that I appreciate all he does.  He does more than a husband should!  (Can you say laundry, grocery shopping, bedtime, picking up, dishes and more…)  Oh, and to make the waves, I punched several circles on blue paper, then trimmed close along it.

022309 PT Boat Close Supplies:
Papertrey stamps – all of them
Colorbox Chalk ink (boat and greeting)
Hero Arts Memories White Ink (stars)
Hero Arts Shadow Ink (blue)
Hero Arts notecards, gemstones
Copic Glitter pen (on the white stars on the blue blocks)

And now some Hero Arts fun. I think I was channeling the incredible Julie on this one.  She is so good at the white-card-with-stamped-and-colored-goodness.  (HERE is a good example.)  I LOVE that look.  Here is my not-so-impressive attempt at it.  These are new stamps from Hero!

This is a close-up to show the fun a Copic Glitter Pen adds to coloring.  See that subtle bit of shimmer?  So much better in real life.  Yummm…

Oh… and the Bachelor is tonight.  Any fun insights?  Wouldn't it be fun if we could all get together and be silly and laugh at it?  :)

A random-post for this Sunday…

Sorry for the delay on posts.  The weekend is going to fast – how does that happen?  And what I thought was just allergies resulted in 4 hours at Urgent Care today for me.  Sinus infection.  On some serious pain meds, so thankfully I worked on this post last night!

Totally random stuff today.  First…

We have winners!  Jennie M gets the scallop border punch and Jessica gets the scallop circle punch.  I will email you. :)

Next random thing: Let's have a cool links…

  • Nichol is amazing.  I just adore THESE cards.  Perfect in every way.
  • Here is another one of my favorite all-time scrapbookers: Mary Macaskill.  This girl has SO much talent.  Her pages are so clean… keeping the focus on the photos.  And her family is adorable.  HERE is her blog.
  • Lisa McGarvey has some amazing talent.  THIS page just makes me smile so big… and makes me want a baby girl!
  • HERE is a blog you must bookmark.  Jennifer is active over at the Hero blog, and her creations always make my jaw drop.
  • I also really like Sugar Buffet's stuff HERE.  Wow.  Wow.  Wow.

Another one: Did you know CK has a blog now?  Check it out HERE.

OK… time to share.

Just one I made with Hero Arts' new loooong notecards and some other Hero goodies along with some from Stampin' Up.

Have a good day!
