A few things to share…

Just a few more random things.  I am random a lot, aren't I?  Ha… sorry!

First: a cool link.  Lisa Spangler has a great video on the Hero Blog today.  Go HERE to see it.  Love her projects.  Way to go, Lisa!

Second: a FAQ.  I have had a lot of people ask about what trimmer I use.  I mostly reach for THIS one from Fiskars.  It is just quick and easy to use and the Triple Track blade system is pretty straight.  It comes in several colors, but I like the red. :)   Important: make sure you get the orange Triple Track refill blades for it.  I also have their rotary one that I use for kitting (bulk cutting), but I prefer this one for regular use.

Third: A lot of people have asked how I create small photos.  I finally have figured out how to share this with you in a video.  It will be coming soon (and finally).  :)

Fourth: A card share.  Pretty straight forward.

Hero Arts stamps (greeting and other) and notecards and gems
Colorbox/Hero Arts Chalk Ink
McGill label punch
Creative Impressions ribbon
Prismacolored pencils and gamsol

That's it for now.  Have a good day.

How-To Video: Using the Quickutz Revolution (and a lot more…)

Good evening.

Quick note before the video: I have a new email address.  It is over there on the sidebar.  So if any of you have me saved in your addy book, please swap it out.  Thanks!  (I love Mac’s MobileMe!)

I have a great link for you.  Check out THIS Color Challenge Blog.  It is a fabulous blog with fabulous inspiration.  I am one of those that isn’t really good with color.  It is one of my biggest challenges.  So, finding a site like this is good for me.  Lots of good ideas!  I was happy to create a project for them this week, and I have the video for it here.

This video shows a lot of fun things to do with the Quickutz Revolution.  I love this baby.  He sits proudly next to my Cuttlebug.  They make a sweet couple. :)   There are several other tips, including using thin scraps and masking.  Enjoy…

My addiction to clear cards continues…

Just got back from a date with my hubby (thanks mom and dad!) and we are watching the Olympics closing ceremony.  I have to admit, I haven't watched as much of the Olympics as I have in the past.  I just get so sad when people lose – it bums me out.  Weird.  Anyway…

How about a card share?  :)   This was from my Stampaway class.  Nothing new, but rather a few of my favorite techniques combined together.  For tips on stamping with white on clear, watch THIS video.  For coloring dimension on the butterfly, watch THIS.  I am still very addicted to clear cards…

Hero Arts stamps (circles, butterfly, greeting)
Hero Arts Clear Notecard
White Staz-On Ink
Ranger White Pen (butterfly trail)
EK Success punches

By the way, this uses my favorite white pen.  I finally found one I like… even better than the famous Signo.  It is the Ranger White Inkssentials pen HERE.  This one doesn't stop working mid-writing.  A good trick – if you write slowly, it looks even better.  I love this pen!

OK… off to snuggle in for a bit of lazy time. :)   Night!

Time to share again…

First – quick – there are still a few winners I haven't heard from for the Card Drive.  Please email me when you get a chance so I can mail you your goodies!
            Crystal Krueger (CANADA)
            Marti Cirillo (MD)
            Marianne Gonzales

OK… time for some quick shares.  I have been doing videos most of the day, so those will be coming up soon.  But for now I have a few other things.

This was a page I did for lisabearnson.com several months ago.  This was a fun foam stamp kit – you can see it HERE.  Ooo!  Looks like you can buy this again on pre-order.  (I have a set I don't need – email me if you are interested.)

I really recommend you go check out the idea gallery for each month.  These kits are really good.

OK… off to edit more video and watch Juno.  That movie has some great one-liners that make me laugh.  The music is fun, too.

Blog links

I am not much of a blog hopper.  I know that once I start looking, I will get sucked in for hours. :)   That is one reason I waited so long to make a stampin' blog – I felt bad having one when I wasn't looking at others.  But there are a few blogs that I love and this is a good chance to share them.

Sweet Dawn gave me a blog award.  Thanks, girl!

The rules for the award are – (1) The winner can put the logo on their blog. (2) Link the person you received your award from. (3) Nominate at least 7 other blogs. (4) Put links of those on yours. (5) Leave a message on the blogs of the girls or boys you’ve nominated.

So, I nominate…

Jana Millen – Because this girl has too much talent and too big of a heart for one person to have.

Lisa Carroll – Because whenever I see one of her cards I have to smile big.  They are just that darn good.

Shari Carroll – Because she is my favorite stamper.  Period.

Nichol Magouirk – Because she is equally kind, talented, generous and true.

Melissa Deakin – Because I admire her photos, talent and way with words.

Carolyn Peeler – Because her blog is so classy. (And so is she.)

Robyn Werlich – Because she is one of my favorite scrapbookers. And I like her. :)

Laura Vegas – Because she is a superwoman… and another one of my favorite scrapbookers.  I hope to meet her someday.

Heather Nichols – Because although I only met her briefly, she has a great kindness about her, and a lot of talent.

Julie Eberson – I have loved her cards for ages.

Keisha Campbell – This girl is amazing at combining stamping into her projects seamlessly.

I am sure that I am missing some of my faves… I will add them if I think of them.  In the meantime, happy blog hopping!

Just a few tidbits…

Random tidbits here. :)

We have 2 winners of the 2 Verses Stamps donated by Connie.  Gretchyn (posted on 8.19 at 11:36pm) and Jaci aka scrapjaci (posted 8.20 at 10:07am).  Please email me so I can get you your prizes!

Also, Connie from Verses Rubber Stamp Company is always looking for fun sayings for her stamps.  If you have any quote or other message ideas, email her at stampyourartout@fuse.net.  If she uses one, she will send you 3 free stamps of your choice!  What an easy way to get a few stamps. :)   Deadline is September 15th.
